    Gwarrrrrrrrr.

I'm so bored at work. I have the worst shifts this weekend. I'm working each night until 11pm. There is nothing to do - and I didn't bring a book with me.

I've read the most disturbing gossip magazines laying around here, aparently Matthew McConaughey and Hilary Swank are fat or disfigured or something. FREAKS!!

Gwar. Any suggestions on how to make my lousy desk job more interesting on a Sudbury Saturday Night?

    :'(

You could always just get some work done.

    What work?
... Everything is done. I'd be forever grateful if you came over with some tunes Pavel. My iPod battery died before I started my shift.

I was transfered at work to a better part and now I just get to do my own thing all day and people leave me alone.

So I get to listen to music all day. It's pretty awesome.

Point being... I always remember to charge my iPod.

...and all in all, a job where there's no work to do? How can you possibly do it? I would go insane.

I guess that this explains why you tend to take Rat's side on some arguments.

I would suggest some sanity in your life. Getting a more active job would be the first step though.

It's not what you think Matthew McConaughey is getting fat for his next movie role so he's pigging out on fast-food [IMG]

Mmm. I take Rat's side on certain issues because I do agree with him. Other times I just don't like to see people pick on him. I'm very protective.

I was active today and I have been getting out more often, thanks. It was gorgeous outside and I ran around with the dog, watered flowers, made lunch with my dad and walked around downtown. I saw a bunch of girls smoking weed in the gazeebo behind my work building this afternoon. You know, I just hate being cooped up in a tall building and watching the world as I sit here and do fuck all.

Tell me about Guatemala, Pavel. I want to learn how hard it is to talk to the native Mayan people there. Are there any farmers unions? And is it pretty?

You shouldn't be protective of Matt, he's a grown boy now. He can handle him own battles, even if he does it by calling people sheeple.

...and I'm glad that you had an active day. I just think that an active job would not only make you happier, but would also make the day go by much faster. Have you ever considered construction? :)

Guatemala is very pretty, especially the coast and the volcanoes. The Mayans know enough Spanish to communicate, and some can even do a bit of English because of the frequent tourism. Guatemala City is pretty much a modern metropolis with slums around it instead of suburbs.

There are pretty strong farmers' unions that keep on fighting with the government, but it doesn't amount to much at the end. Many companies are foreign and unions are easily broken off by firing people.

It's a fascinating country. A little dangerous... well, dangerous enough if you're not careful.

Lake Atitlan (and the town around it... Panajachel, San Pedro), Tical, Chichicastenango, and some beach towns are the places to visit.

Well, I am fond of Matt and I know he can handle his own but I hate it when people gang up on somebody - I just can't keep quiet.

I have considered construction. I used to work in the fields when I was in high school throughout my summers. I hoed beans and corn. I also drove a beer cart for a golf course one summer that was a great outdoor job - and during the winter I worked at an indoor volleyball-rock climbing facility. I volunteered all winter walking abandoned and abused dogs on Saturday mornings.

But I've been working steady desk jobs for the past 2 1/2 years now - and I do need something to get me outside. Anything. I wish I still had some kind of organized sport to keep me motivated, I've been waiting for school to start up again so I could join a soccer team again during the fall.

Guatemala sounds beautiful from what I've heard. But how are the people different from other Latin American countries? I know that may sound ignorant, but I'd like to know what is very distinct to Guatemalan culture compared to say, Colombian or Honduran culture?

I'm sure that you make Matt uncomfortable with your fondness, and that is good enough for me. Pure entertainment.

Those sound like fun jobs, while office job sounds like no fun. I guess it pays well though.

The people aren't much different. The Mayans are all well... Mayan and ethnic and pretty cool. You won't really be too exposed to their culture as a tourist though... the rest of Guatemala is "civilized"... and then people are people. Most Latin males are macho assholes while most Latin women are teases. Everyone that's not Mayan and ethnic loves Jesus.

Hahaha. That's awesome. I'd really like to go to Guatemala and pick up some more Spanish.

I don't know why Matt would be uncomfortable. But it's possible that he is accustomed to his own company, and likes it that way. Not really sure how or what I wind up doing to him - but I'm sure you enjoy the e-drama. :)

You know, with Laety off getting her beauty sleep I know we need more drama in these forums. Pavel, maybe you should hit on lode and see what happens. Don't be shy.

And yes, this job does pay well. I don't have a whole lot of work to do in the evenings, so I will definitely be able to do my homework and read throughout the school year. They are also pretty flexible hours, and I can get overtime whenever I need it. It's a pretty easy job for the pay - plus I get to speak French while I'm here.

    Do you work, Pavel?
