my ears smell wierd.

ever since i started stretching my earlobes, they smell funny. in a stinky kind of way. i can't figure out why. anyone else have a clue?

yup. i'm up to 2g, where i want to stay. and my second holes are on 8 g where i think they're staying. i just don't get why they smell funny! it's like bellybutton funk or something. i wash 'em too. wierd as hell.

 

Yeah, the common name is earcheese. Everyone with stretched piercings gets it, it's because where your skin is constantly renewing itself and shedding and you have plugs etc. in there the dead shedded skin has nowhere to go so it builds up and makes a smell. It's perfectly normal and not unhealthy, just take them out to clean them every 1-2 days and you're fine.

..I like the smell of mine. I have my septum stretched to 0g and I can smell it anytime I move my nose a lot.. haha.

 

My friends have all been gauging out their ears and they all say theirs smell funny, too, but no infection there either. My friend Jake says Dawn is good at cleaning them, but I dunno, if you're using alcohol, that seems like it makes more sense than dish soap, lol.

 

I wouldn't use alcohol, it's way too harsh to use regularly, it's unnessacery. Just use a gentle antibacterial soap or something. I just use water really.

 

don't use peroxide, either, on your skin. it's too drying. soap should be fine for the skin, as well as an airdry.

 

How can you smell your own ears? It's not possible.

You, sir, have obviously never had a piercing infection. Really bad ones you can definitely smell, even though your ears are so far from your nose. Even the ones that aren't so bad still make your earrings stink.

 

Is 2g alot?

 

That's because I have never had a piercing. I wear my jewels on the fore of my skin, I have things that I can hang things on. I don't know I would just feel too burdened with having a metal thing through my flesh.

Other than that there is no reason at all why I have never noticed a foul smell come from my ears, I wash only when necessary or if I am going out to a part. When more flies start buzzing around me than normal though I have a wash.

No thanks you, I have enough holes in me that need to be kept free from dirt as it is.
