I was sitting in one of the hospital waiting rooms this morning when a woman asked where the stairs were. It was kind of cute because she tried to whisper that she is afraid of elevators; but older people can't seem to whisper. I know it's because older people's hearing isn't what it used to be, but it still makes me smile to hear an older person try to whisper.
Older people can be so funny. The other day my 80 something year old great grandaunt called to tell me about her troubles (again!) And the first thing she said was, "I'm having (she spelled the next part out) S-H-I-T problems!" I couldn't believe she said that!
Man...I could go on and on about the funny things my older relatives do. My great grandma (age 94) is constantly amusing/confusing me. lol! She reads romance novels. Any time something is wrong with someone she suggests they take pepto bismal. She gets the newspaper every day but doesn't even read it. And if the paper doesn't come she gets upset and has me call the tribune to complain. She has a special pillow that fits around her neck and keeps the back of her head away from the chair so she doesn't mess up her hair. She thinks she has less blood because she's old. I'm pretty sure that's not true. She sometimes says sex jokes that I don't even get and I feel a little weird about that. lol! She has a saying that "men from the north are long and thin, men from the south are short and fat. I'd rather have a man who was born in the north and raised in the south." and she's not talking about a man's height and weight.
LOL! She sounds like my greataunt Evelyn. She is always telling me to stay with her so I can get a "studly marine."
