I dress in flannel, a big fluffy lumberjack beard, jeans, tshirts, hiking boots or sandals (not flipflops) and I'm saving money for a fleece lined leather bomber jacket. I dress for utility and hard wearing ability, not for 'good looks' flannel, linen, canvas(sailcloth), denim, leather, wool. Those are my staple fabrics. I don't wear any artificial fibers if I can help it, and I actually like the 'rougher' things. my friends have often termed me an 'escapee from a lumber camp', which is ironic, since I live in texas.
I am sorta the same way. I dress in what I've got, which is mostly shit from thrift stores because I'm morally opposed to new clothing. That being said, I am usually seen wearing tattered blue jeans which are washed maybe once or twice a month*. During the winter I wear flannels, but now I'm into a wide assortment of non-related t-shirts. Some are bands, some are sports, some are from places I've never been to, all were bought second hand. If asked, my style is anti-materialism. *From years of experience, pants don't ever get dirty just from being worn. They are not in contact with any sweat producing part of your body. So long as you don't spill anything you can wear them indefinably(using a rotation of at least 3 pairs to keep the gossips guessing).
Understandable about being opposed to 'new' clothing, however, being both big and tall, (275 pounds and 6'4" tall) my used clothing choices are exceptionally limited. That's part of why I buy hard wearing, is my clothes cost more, and so for me to get the same value, I have to wear them longer. However, that being said, I wear my clothes until they're not even fit to go to a bargain bin or second hand store. as far as the gossips...hehe...they don't say much to or about me, and I don't really care if they guess or not, but yeah, pants in rotation can be worn longer than people think. wear once and in the wash? not unless you're working in 100+ heat, pouring sweat from every pore, spilling smelly things on them, etc.
Hey, I have no concept of when colours clash, your npt the only one. And besides, who gives a shit what you wear? If your comfy in what you're wearing that's the main thing.
I know what you mean, I'm 6'3" and about the same weight(minus 120 lbs ). Shirts and stuff usually is cool. But for pants! I can never find 36 longs, ever. Not anywhere but online. I've had to resort to 34's with a wider waist just so I could sag to have them long enough.
Shirts suck for me, as I've got a 19 inch neck, and pants...oh man...I've got a 36" inseam as well. granted, my combination's hard to find, as I've a 52" chest a 44 waist and a 46 hips, so I take up a LOT of fabric. Iv'e been considering trying to find a good tailor.
i think that "style" is basically what ever people who are really interested in fashion think they have because they follow all the latest trends and labels or whatever. everyday people have personal style and if you're a jeans and t-shirt guy then i guess that is yours. there's nothing wrong with that and besides, who said that jeans and t-shirts can't be stylish?
Thanks, a lot of people are intimidated by my size, so knowing that someone, somewhere, would check me out at the very least makes me feel better. P.S. I also wear a kilt during the summer months, and half the time during the winter as well. I'm saving up for a ultilikilt right now, as my homemade one's getting a tad ratty....after 4 years...
Well there are plenty of your kind in the great state of Maine (the next state over) I see them all the time Perhaps you should consider relocating Hotwater
Yeah, I really need to head north, as this heat's killing me. 10 days of 100+ temps here....ugh. (makes face) give me subzero anytime.
Sometimes 20 below in the winter, wind chills approaching 50 below, 30 inch snowfalls, sounds like you’d be right in your element Hotwater
Damn right, easier to add layers. One can only get so nekkid, and with me having my own fur coat to start with? I'd like to go somewhere that pot's mostly decriminalized, though.
thanks, glad I could be amusing..lol. I'd probably return the favor on you...at least my clothes are comfortable....lol
we're laughing at ourselves, then, are we? I'm in the same state most of the time. very broken in, and very well worn.
There's nothing wrong with that. I admire people who aren't so hung up about how they look. Just make sure you don't stink and wear whatever you want. Cool people aren't going to judge you.
