I've had my dreads three weeks now and just took the elastics out yesterday. yeah i know i should've sooner but was afraid they'd fall apart. now the elastics are out they are splitting on the ends and getting frizzy. I'm just afraid they might fall out however SoaringEagle says they won't and i trust his advice. Can anyone tell me how to fix the tips and keep'em tight and together and all that?
Even if they do fall out a bit, its no biggie since backcombing is just a headstartish thing, it doesnt make dreads, it makes sectioned backcombed hair which just helps in ways. So dont worry if they get all loose and frizzy, it's normal and mostly unavoidable. Why? Cause _time_ makes dreads, nothing else. And not in a few months either...but the progress is always there. A popular saying is, that they get ""bad"" before they get tight, and even that tends to happen more than once. It's an unique process for everyone.
no a friend of me has the same end. his dreads are now 2 months i guess, and they're doing great! they just need a lil more time.
hey man i had mine for like 3 months now there comeing in im thinking bout the peyote stiching and hand blow glass beads
i backcombed mine and they fell out completely at that point... but no worries because like someone already said, backcombing is just a head start... just leave them be and in a week or so you'll begin to see alot of nice locks. after mine fell apart it took no time for them to get back together.
