The same thing as the difference between unicorns and leprechauns.

Also homeopathic doctors. I'd take my luck on the unicorn to cure me.

 

geeks are computer clever.
Nerds just look like skinny bespectacled pricks.
Dorks can be fat.
Spazes are eligible for charitable donations.
Dweebs are physically small in stature and have sqeaky voices.

I think I'm a mix between a nerd and a spaz then. A naz.. or Sperd. Something like that.

The word spaz originated in Britain when this spastic *and* nerd ( called Joey Deacon)wrote a book for a childrens TV programme that always did charity appeals.In this case , to build a "spastic friendly house"for him.
Except he unexpectedly died just before he was due to move in.
Much to the amusement of 5 million British kids.

The word "joey" or a "spaz" launched a million playground fights amongst
the 6year olds of England in the 1980s.

i worked EXTREMELY hard to overcome a TOTALLY debilitating shyness. so now i blithely go about my way, being an outgoing nerd instead of a quiet one and shrug off all those times i look like an idiot. but it still takes work. i didn't speak above a whisper to people who weren't my close friends until i was almost 20.

 

I guess. I'm a nerd.

 

well if being a nerd means your in love with old school mario and the dark knight... then your not alone, because im a nerd too. =)

but for real, labels are the most stupid and childish things, so dont worry if your a nerd or prep or jock or whatever else stupid people want to come up with.... just be who you are and no matter what they want to label you as, as long as your being youself thats all that matters.

That's adorable in a way.

I learned things just recently that have helped me establish connections with people:

How to speak in the I-perspective. Not seek validation or being outcome-dependent.

How to expose my flaws.

How not to fill in silences artificially.

How not to bombard people with yes or no questions, etc.

How to answer questions or tell stories with emotional content and relevance.

Also certain things about setting boundaries and handling criticism and disregard.

These days I don't need to be so defensive around strangers. It also helps in business.

But I still have much to learn!

 

I'm a nerd as I like video games and gaining knowledge. I'm also not a nerd as I will FUCK you up if you call me a fucking nerd. Yadamean? No offense to nerds.

I have a pink DS and I regularly play old school nintendo and super nintendo Mario and Kirby. I also still have a working Super Nintendo. And I use it.


PS: The boyfriend plays old gameboy pokemon games... *shudder* BUT he still has Duck Hunt and a working NES, so I forgive him.
