ended up with gin instead of rum.

    new amsterdam gin.

also got a 6oz steel flask. nothing fancy, but it does the trick. took a bit to work tonight and bought a single serving bottle of orange juice so i could enjoy some gin and juice on my dinner break. with enough left over for a good slug of gin right before my ride home....nothing anywhere close to the point of being inebriating, of course. i just really like new amsterdam gin, for the cost anyway, and its been a stressful two days as far as work is concerned. a small drink did me good both during and right after work.

ugh, ended up getting trashed that night and had a bad hangover for all of yesterday.

today i feel better. tonight i will have one bottle of newcastle awaiting my arrival from work.

i MAY pick up a 24 oz bottle of heineken or somethting on my way home.

other than that, no drinking. just pot. jeez, alcohol really takes its toll.

    i still love it sometimes

    Guinness Extra Stout.

    Like a real man. :D

(In other words, I had to go to the shitty supermarket liquor section which barely had any selection, and Guinness always seems to be my automatic choice when all I can choose from are generic beers)

guinness is always good. extra stout preferred usually, but sometimes i just really want guinness draught (or murphys, or beamish or whatever)

last night i had guinness draught....also a few fuller's ESBs (excellent. like everything i've tried from fuller's, i can't recommend it enough)

tonight i'm drinking cachaca for the first time.

    i'm not impressed....

i think i'll take it easy tonight and tomorrow get something more drinkable. i may just save this and buy some coca leaves and make an extract. that would be very nice to have.

cruzan single barrel estate rum. good, but a bit overpriced i think. only a little bit, though.

i had it both straight and in mojitos made from scratch (the mixes are god awful!)

but last night i had the same, and the bulk of the bottle.

so there wasnt close to enough to get good and drunk tonight.

but it doesnt matter, i have good pot :D

I couldn't take any glass rafting, so that ruled out all of the microbrews I could think of...until I found Caldera Brewing! :) They are the only company I know of that cans micros, so I took their IPA on the trip! I wanted pale ale, but the IPA was very good and has made me start to reconsider IPAs...I was a bit intimidated by their hoppiness at first. :p

man, i think this might be the longest this thread has gone without a post[IMG]

tonight i'm drinking glen moray 12 year, a reasonably priced speyside single malt scotch (at less then 25 dollars, i'm thrilled with the quality. the clerk assured me it was underpriced and that the price would go up at some point, but i'm not sure how much i believe him, or how much it's worth. but i'd say that i wouldnt be disappointed if i paid 30 dollars for it, and wouldnt be terribly upset had i even paid 35)

i also had a bottle of paulaner's salvator doppelbock. it's very affordable, very strong, and very delicious simultaneously.
