How can you tell the difference if the flow is positive.

Could someone be insane and be totally functional in the material world?

Kind of like lost in his own world and obsessed with his own devious ideas, but to strangers he would appear to be a real together business person.

I have often wondered if I was insane. I suppose I always come to the conclusion that as long as I appear to functioning well with people and seem to give the appearance of a "normal" contributing member of society, then it is cool.

Perhaps it is just how I am.

But lately it has been different with me. In this last month new worlds seem to be opening. Something inside me is just an explosion of bliss lately.

No matter what shit happens around me, I just find myself laughing at it.

I cant seem to get angry anymore. That is unlike me.

It is like I am following through life without effort.

So I figure I am connecting with something really neat within me or I am going totally nuts.

My guess is I am insane.:D

"Enlightenment" is extremely subjective and individualistic. Insanity can be defined clinically.

First of all, anyone who is actually insane doesn't necessarily think that he's insane.

    But beyond all the bullshit...

All that really matters is that you're comfortable with yourself and your ideas and that you can somehow function in this world without being a burden upon anyone. (that is unless you get a sugar mamma who is more than willing to support you :))

    it's pretty subjective...

by definition they are basically the same: holding beliefs contrary to what is generally accepted...

the only real difference is in the point the speaker is trying to make

Life is pretty cool. I am no burden on anyone.

I just suspect I am a little screwed up in the head. But I am happy and I am actually a responsible person.

    Yeah, I figured so much.

Everyone is screwed up in the head. I could easily argue that "normal" people are much more screwed up than you.

I think "enlightenment" is a loaded word, and I don't really believe in it.
and like Pavel said, basically everyone is screwed up in the head. some more than others, obviously.

Everyone is crazy. Yes western psychology would call you insane but the ones who believe in that philosophy are insane as well. If you feel like laughing all the time for no reason than that sounds like your on your way but then again thats just my insane view. The fact that you have bliss coming from inside is a definate factor in your becoming enlightened. Go for it.
