Retro shops in amsterdam

    hi, i'm off to amsterdam in November (and i can't wait) anyway, i love original Retro clothing does anyone know if there are any decent retro shops around???:cool:

    Yup.. totally agree.. it's a nice hippy sort of market. It's on walking distance from the Dam, but you can also take the metro/subway, there is a stop there (Waterlooplein). If I'm correct, it's the second stop from CS (CS, Nieuwmarkt, Waterlooplein).

    could anyone else give me any idea's of anywhere to go in amsterdam as there seems so much to do i don't know where to start

    Apart from the big tourist orientated Waterlooplein market try the Albert Cuyp market. Another place is the Jordaan area of A'dam. There's a myriad of shops tucked away selling retro stuff and bric-brac as well as antiques and objet d'ar. You might find what your looking for in the most least expected place as there are many inconspicuous shops dotted all over the city. Finally try Noorder market (near Anne Frank house) for old stuff, inexpensive clothes, etc, but note, this is only open for 5 hours on Monday mornings only.
