I LOVE Jimi Hendrix's blues album and I can't find anything like it. Are there any blues musicians that sound like Jimi Hendrix. It's slow and full of great beats, great great great guitar solos, and his voice is amazing (not to mention the lyrics). One of my favorite albums.
Check out "Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush" Lots of albums, hard to find. Frank Marino practically channels Jimi... Or try Robin Trower..."Bridge of sighs"
Two greats mentioned there. If you want something current, try Randy Hansen. Also, Kelly Richey, a female from Cinncinatti, plays some mean Hendrix when touring. She is the best female guitarist I have ever seen, and better than most males.
I often think that Jimi is under appreciated as a blues player, people always associate him with his trademark, acid-tinged rock fusion sound, but i think he has terrific feel for the blues... Also, he is great at string-bending and has a vibrato to die for! Killer ingredients for blues soloing!
Jimmy hendrix was blues... everything he did had a very solid blues background. Anyone who wouldn't associate Hendrix's style of playing with the blues might have a messed up way of seeing what the blues was. . . . Same with the dude in your sig. Who is freaken great too .. .
