You should be using the same amount of the dread soap as you would use with regular shampoo. It sounds like your scalp is not getting dry enough after washing, make sure you are getting your scalp supa dry after you wash your dreads. This should take care of the flakey scalp issue If you have anymore questions please let me know Peace, Knotty Sloan DreadHeadHQ On Sat, Jul 19, 2008 at 9:13 AM, Eric Shayne Armstrong <eric_armstrong_450@hotmail.com> wrote: I followed the directions completely in tha dreadkit but now my scalp is itchy and flaky...I had them a week and washed my hair before starting. Should I wash my hair in the dreadsoap again now? Do i need to wear a stocking cap when i do? How much soap should I use? Please holla back asap. Thankz Am I wrong to think that hey if ya already got dandruff ya scalp DRY ENOUGH! Do they know what they're talking about?
Hey Skillz, I used the DHHQ-shampoo twice, and it dried my scalp out completely, left it flakey, itchy and dry. So I had to use this dandruff-shampoo I had lying around (vichy) to get it under control. Now I am using an 100% olive bar soap, which has worked so far (Only had dreads for 3 months) The response from DHHQ sounds rather stupid....
Where can I get that olive bar soap? Oh and how did ya get the flakes completely out I used vinegar and baking soda but some flakes still left...pssh :-(
I'm in Norway, soooo.. I bought the olive bar soap at (we call it) an "immigrant-shop". I am sure you can get it at any health-food store, or buy any bar soap that's as natural as can be. They usually seem to recommend dr.bronners on here, which I haven't tried myself. http://www.drbronner.com the flakes came out after a few washes, but I still can spot a few sometimes. Oh, and wax will make the flakes "stick". Nasty. Wax-free makes the dreads "dry" so that most of the flakes will just fall out eventually. hope that helps!
