My brother has pretty much left home for good, so he said that I can pretty much have whatever's left in his old bedroom. There isn't much, but I found a briarwood smoking pipe. It hasn't been used in at least ten years, and there's a bunch of tobacco stuck at the bottom and a bunch of residue all around. What's the best method of cleaning it so I can use it for weed? Thanks.
three options: search bar located to your left hand side and down a bit Google, everything is on google youtube just look first
Alright, fair enough. I searched. I found some southern hick on YouTube explain it, and I used a screwdriver to scrape some of the gunk off, then a pipe cleaner (who knew they had a purpose other than kindergarten art projects>) to clean through it again, but I also decided to rinse it out. It hasn't done much, as a lot of the gunk is still there, and the smell of tobacco is so strong now, a smell I detest. What should I do now?
if it's glass you could soak it in rubbing alcohol, also a water pick works well (if you dont know what it is you're out of luck)
I do know what a water pick is, and I have one, but this is made of briarwood, not glass. Should I still try a water pick?
Wood pipes are the shit. Don't toss it. Keep cleaning it, it might take you literally a few hours of non-stop cleaning and soaking and cleaning if it's really ten-year-old tobacco residue. I gave my own wooden pipe an insane cleaning yesterday (something was stuck in the air pathway so i had to) and it took about a full hour. I was sweating when I was done. That residue gets as thick as asphalt, and you know what's funny? I would often find GREEN under thick caked asphalty layers. Filled it to the brim, and put it away. Have it ready for a short-notice session .
Yes, it's the unfinished smoking byproduct, tar. It's what makes smoking weed bad. It actually resembles Hash in every way except smell, it smells like just really really really burnt ashes.
No... Not if it's wooden. Keep scraping it and whatever else. Really you should just order a glass pipe online.
I have a wooden pipe myself...which is used for cannabis smoking. The best way I find to clean it is to just scrape it with a small tool...its tedious work. The only way I would get rid of the funky smell is to use it. Keep scraping it, its worth it once your done.
It's a very nice pipe, and I'd like to use it if possible. The only problem is that the last user only smoked tobacco and the last time he/she did it was at least 10-15 years ago, unless if my brother smoked in it, which is unlikely. I'm going to keep scraping it, but I will think about the glass pipe.
when we scrape our bowls we just use bobby pins. throw on some zeppelin, get comfy, and start scrapin.. usually takes about a half our to get it completely clean
