For my cousin. She's only 13 to. Ah, jealousy. It's nice though. I've also discovered i'm short enough to lay down in my dad's backseat to nap.

It's for her but my uncle will keep in New Orleans to drive around until she can drive it. He travels for business and apparently goes there a lot. Only home on weekends actually.

Ack, I hate it when people do that. My friend had 3 or 4 cars before he even got his learner's permit. Granted, they weren't new, but still.

13? When I was 13 I was lucky if my parents bought me new underwear.. I remember my first car I bought, I was 20 and had worked three jobs to get it..
Well don't be jealous, there is no reason for you to be..It's just a car anyways...

Nothing for you to be jealous about. After all, she will look at that unusable present and look at it and nothing more a few more years from now.

Sounds to me like the uncle is the one who's recieving the gift...

A 13 year old who gets a new car at 13 surely wont wont a "used" car at 16....

Even though I've lived in the States for 15 years now, I still can't get used to the notion that so many teenagers expect their parents to buy cars for them.

I bought my first car with money I saved. I paid for the insurance, the tax, the gas and if I couldn't fix it myself, the repairs, sometimes taking it off the road for weeks at a time until I had the cash to do so. My parents would have laughed out loud at the idea they should foot the bill for any of that.

Right now I work with a 40-year old woman who's still bitter because 20+ years ago, her younger sister got a nicer free car than she did.

    That's just beyond sad...

Wish I got a free car, but I appreciated my car so much when I finally saved enough to get it, I still wish I had it, it was a shitty car but it was mine, paid for by me...
