When i was in middle school music was good but not high school. Music now is horrible it sounds like fag music. And rap has way to much influence, i was at a club that was dead last night and there where 3 white college guys crip walkin. i wonder if they know what their doing cause c walkin is a gangster war dance.
I like pretty some oldies but 80s glamrock is way too repetative I agree current rap IS SHIT and sure there are exceptions, but there are exceptions to everything...fuck just belt it out Kids are so attracted to those gay singers and now its basically talentless dumbasses with no origionality singing in a song they didn't write and gaining worldwide popularity Then theres the screamo and new metal thats taking the stage, some of that is talented and origional but still, not very good music
um...yeah..this is going to be great Hip Hop, rap, R&B, soul, There's a difference. The Hip Hop and rap today is not even considered to be real Hip Hop and rap. It's just people trying to do anything and everything to get money. The world today is based on money, and that is it. If you ever listen to rap & and Hip Hop today it's like "I got a pocket full of paper" or "I got money in the bank" and "crank that", some stupid shit like that, that's not rap or Hip Hop. It's the old stuff that's true. - for heavens sake, we all can't be the same, and things will never be as they were")(" -unknown
And, on that note I will quote a Frank Zappa song, Joe's Garage: Joe: (speculating on the future) Well the years was rollin’ by, yeah Heavy metal ’n’ glitter rock Had caught the public eye, yeah Snotty boys with lipstick on Was really flyin’ high, yeah ’n’ then they got that disco thing ’n’ new wave came along ’n’ all of a sudden I thought the time Had come for that old song We used to play in joe’s garage And if I am not wrong You will soon be dancin’ to... ******************** When I was in HS, music was pretty damn good. Oh sure there was still the kissy ass sappy stuff - but you just had to ignore that.
I remember 1968, I was in 7th grade, My father was just ranking on The Rolling Stones Jumpin Jack Flash had just come out. View attachment 38835
I recall all the good songs of the 70's , when i was a teen..but i HATE it when the BAD songs get stuck in my head and play themselves over and over again !!!!! Like at this moment.." Afternoon Delight" is on its second verse in my skull and I just wanna scream !
Nope. The music in my high school days was crap, consisting of Beyonce, Soulja Boy, Dem Franchize Boyz (*winces from the unbelievably stupid name*), D4L, Ludacris, Paul Wall, Ying Yang Twins, Nickleback, Lil' Jon (*pukes and cries in fear*), and Yung Joc. I believe these kids were programmed to only like bubblegum music. When I had the oppurtunity to play a song from an underground rapper known as Goretex, people were saying,"What the hell is this crap?"
i'm going back in time to be 20 years old again tonight! DEVO WILL PERFORM LIVE TONGHT, IN CONCERT, HERE IN AUSTIN, TEXAS...I'M GOING TO THE CONCERT! :2thumbsup: :sifone:
I don't really like the music I liked in high school anymore, with the exception of Nirvana and Rage Against the Machine. Those are the two bands I can think of that transcend the era they were popular. I think they'll be timeless like much of the music that came out in the 60s and 70s is timeless, but other than that I think music is better now than then; not the crap they play on the radio but there is certainly a much better underground scene now in all music genres.

The thing is, I'm in high school and I hate most of the music made now, gimme Aerosmith over any of the crap from today
i graduated in 1978, and i can barely stand to listen to music i listened to in high school any more in high school i mostly listened to rock, blues and jazz after high school i listened to punk, industrial/experimental, rap, post-rock, various islamic musics, chinese opera, mongolian/tuvan throat singing, various african musics, some other things now all i listen to is jamaican music - i find limiting myself to be helpful

the one eye'd one horn'd flying purple people eater and the itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bakini, were still popular when i started high school. then the beatles came along, and the whole "british invasion" thing got rolling. before that it was like the kingston trio and such.
Both of those tunes were still popular when I was in high school and I was just 4 or 5 years behind you.
