stoner and burnout are way different


stoners are people that are high alot and get shit done also(job school family)

burnouts are people that are high alot and dont get shit done(no job,drop out of high school or college,and dont like family)

I agree. I think a burnout is the worst thing someone can call you. I would take offense from being called a burnout.

hahah stoner bill, nicely stated. i not really a fan ofpothead. i know im not a burn-out, though i do know a few. i would consider myself a stoner. i hate hearing people who don't smoke weed, tell me all the "bad things" it does, especially, when i know they havent looked into it at all, or they just beleive everything else they hear. for example, i beleive pot if bad for your throat and lungs, and thats it. i don't not beleive hte whole killing brain cells (after reading a long FAQ on cannabis on www.erowid.org) but then again, im got a stupid burnout, just becuz im saying "no it dones't kill brain cells"

 

I don't mind being called a stoner when i'm stoned by stoners, coz it's used in jest.
But when people use it as a derogatory term it pisses me right off.

Like I said, no one can win a semantics argument. My opinion remains that Stoner and Burn-out are the same thing. I don't know from what dictionary you got this idea that they're different, Modest, but I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. By the way, Rashekee pot does kill brain cells, just to clear that up. Holding your breath kills brain cells, taking in smoke kills brain cells, running kills brain cells. A lot of things kill brain cells.

 

I say stoner means someone who gets stoned, like teacher is someone who teaches or worker is someone who works. Pothead is like crackhead; its all they have and all they do. In other words, a burn out. So I don't mind being called a stoner, but I take offense to pothead.

I've kinda gotten past giving a shit what people call me. Yawll are just a bunch of pothead, burn out stoners! I'm playin' Happy smoking, livinin' and lovin'...who cares what "they" call you....

 

--I agree with pretty-much everyone: if it comes from another within the "community" then it's cool, but an "outsider" will get get ripped a new asshole. Except burn-out...it does imply that we are filling the stereotypical role of lazing around and being a drain on anyone around us. But i like burner. To me it is a much different meaning than burn-out.

 

Hmm... can't say I really enjoy being called a pothead. It's cool if you're chilling with your smoking buds and they refer to you or themselves as potheads. Usually though there's such negative connotations when people are refered to like that. Truth be told, I'd rather be called a stoner than a pothead.

 

Amongst friends, I think it's alright, but I hate when total strangers say that shit. I was handing in a paper in class today, and as I walk past this girl, I hear her say to her friend, "stoner" in a very derogatory manner. Yeah, I'm some dumb pothead, that must be why I'm the first one in the class to get done with my paper. People just fucking annoy me.
