I've been a depressed for a while now, similar to what happened to me last summer. So tonight I wandered onto this site (thesite.org). Continued searching, looking stuff up, and I think I have schizoid personality disorder or avoidant personality disorder...at least a fair touch of one of them. Should throw erotomania, autistic thinking, and a little ocd in there too... Shit. I know I've had these kind of problems for a while now. Never knew there was a name for them.

I don't feel fully comfortable around a lot of my friends now. I almost never call anyone to find out what they're doing to hang out. Mostly I just feel like a 'third wheel' friend if you will. So I usually only go out if I get called by someone, often feeling like if someone wants to hang out with me they'll call me.

As far as girls/relationships are concerned, I don't know what to say about that really. This is where the erotomania comes into play. I often feel certain that girls I happen to hang out with (which is extremely rarely and almost purely by association with a friend), and others that I just happen to be around like/want to be with me. Like I have to do almost no work on my part and they're just going to basically throw themselves at me at some point.

Best wishes to you on your journey. Are you going to try something new to address these issues?

that sounds more like spd. your in that age range when spd does start to develop. you are damm lucky to have caught it this early! you need to find a psychologist you can work with on this RIGHT NOW! the sooner you get help the quicker you can get better. if you wait you won't be able to improve much. both apd and spd do not improve with age. they both get harder if not impossable to work with with age. i know this because i am spd and i use to be apd too. i was also a psychotherapist for almost 17 years.
