yep. perfectly normal. it will take months until they start growing down and straight. but i wouldnt always keep them coverd all the time. its nice to let your dreads get some fresh air vuz if not when you go to cut them out like i did, they will have shit inside them from always keeping them coverd from the fabric you use

Nothing wrong with it, I'd recommend wearing a wool beanie too. Although that could be pretty hot, being summer and all. It'll help them stay down and hold the roots together, but they won't be growing as "freely" as they could be without one.

I hear a hat or tam can help, but I've never worn a hat since starting mine and they are doing fine. Maybe it's just me, but if I wear a hat for too long I start to get a headache...

I don't know, I kinda think the scalp should be able to "breath" to prevent issues like dandruff and young dreads should be able to move around to help form knots. Why do you have to keep them covered when you sleep?

I wear my hair up for work nearly everyday, and have from the start... but I always let em down and loose when I can. Hair starts to train into a particular direction, so keeping it in the same style day and night may cause them to form oddly. Just what I think.
