The 1980s were the absolute low point in car styling in America.

Probably because it was less idealistic.

the fashion. the parties. the sex. the nose candy. the gratuitous use of hairspray and blue eyeshadow...those would have been the days.

I don't think we missed much. Just a lot of patriotic rock tunes, Michael Jackson disco, and an 'every man for himself' and 'winner take all' atmosphere.

I'd have to say the 80's were probably my prime years, in many ways. (Unless they're still to come.) :cheers2: And I bought my first car in 1980.

What a piece of crap it was, but oh how I loved it. Polished it till I could see my face in the rust, Christmas tree smelling like a chemical toilet hanging from the rear view mirror, added fresh oil every day, you know the kind of thing.

But as for the clothes; I hope to <insert your favorite deity here>, that there are no remaining photographs of me in those days.
