I see people with really nice dreads all the time. Mine are not even a month old yet....they are licked up but the ends are still loose (my choice didnt want my hair to shrink that much was halway down my back the ones I dreaded all the way are about 4 inches). My SO wants me to backcomb again to tighten them up. Is anyone happy with less than perfect dreads? I know my hair and know it will lock on its own. My bottom ones in the back are great the ends grew into them. I dont mind walking in public with huge frizzy dreadies, I dont care what people think and to me dreadlocks are NOT an overnight thing...I think eventually they will lock up perfectly fine on their own without me messing with them to much.... Am I right? I do rip my ends up when I get bored but honestly I dont care if their not too tight right away this is teaching me patience. Anyone with less than perfect dread feel the same? I just get tired of people telling me to keep backcombing when I feel there is not a need after the first time. I also dont use products on my dreads other than a TTO and sea salt spray in the mornings...( I guess this just turned into a rant sorry)

    rant rant rant :D
My ends are all lose too.
    I like wispy ends.
My top is pretty fuzzy some days too, I just throw on a headband.
Doesn't sound like your doing anything wrong.
Dreads are a personal decision, all the way ;)

if you backcomb anymore, you'll just be undoing the work that time is doing.

Well less than perfect ones are perfect to me its just other people seem to always want to "advise" me on how to make them look bettter. I dont care if they look perfect to anyone I love them and think they are beautiful :) Thanks for letting me rant and I wont backcomb anymore I refuse to do anything but let them be (aside from separting big ones growing together) :)

Hey! My dreads have loose ends as well (they are also FAR FAR from perfect ) what products are advisable to use on those to tighten them up as i feel as if loose ends are not beneficial at all. or are my instincts incorrect and it matters not that they are loose? wooooohoooooooo :D

I dreadballed my loose ends, and got the ends nice and rounded.. I just lost around an inch of length, but it was soo worth it..
