1st Time Grower....opinions please

Ok so after research & thought & getting the money together, lol, i finally got my 1st set up started. I'm currently at day 17, they sprouted June 26 & 27, 1 of them is older but i wasn't really keepin track but i feel like it sprouted like between the end of May & beginning of June. I've been following the book Marijuana Bud for Less- Grow 8oz. of bud for less than $100 by SeeMoreBuds. the first time i tried i set them up in my closet & i think i burnt them unfortunately so i trashed them & kept the 1 left over that sprouted at the beginning of the month of June I think. so now i have 3 others beside that one & i've tried to salvage it by LSTing it to get some new growth thats not burnt. Now as for my set up i'm currently using 3 42watt CFLs that put out 2600 lumens each , the growing medium like the book i'm using says to use is Miracle Grow, yes I kno i'm sure many of u are rolling your eyes at the miracle grow but if u maintain the ph like the book says then your fine lol. the seeds are bag seeds since i wouldn't wanna mess up on good ones i have a shitload of bag seeds lol, so i'm unsure of the strain, 1 plant is real bushy so i'm thinking indica variety? well here's a few pics lemme kno what you think & any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

you seem to be on the right track, done yer research. I got some great buds out of the bagseed I used for my first coupla grows. One killer purple strain emerged:drool5:. I could smell it from the road outside my house as it ripened. one trick to getting good 'uns from bagseed is to plant many more seeds than you think you'll need, but that's obvious. After while you won't feel the need to consult protocol as you'll understand the plants better and how they communicate their needs. My spiritual connection to the growing plants is just as fulfilling as smoking their product.

yeah MG is debatable. I have moral concerns about using peat-soil because it's taking a natural carbon absorber out of the earth, but it still gives decent buds. A better medium would be regular clean dirt, bat guano, and perlite (equal parts of each). I just have a hard time finding dirt that doesn't have any pine bark or other shit in it. I wonder if I could just dig some dirt out of the earth...

 

lol my brother is growing too, smoking is a family affair at my place, & he actually went across the street to this public park & took a cup of dirt to grow some bag seeds & his plant now is like 12" tall with i think like 6 or so nodes kinda scrawny i think lol i call his plant anorexic but it's been doing great actually, real nice stem, & he had to transplant outta this little flower pot that held like a cup of soil & planted it lower he says to make it bigger, he's only been usin window light as well

 

unfortunately had some problems & had to trash the plants however i plan on starting over, i'm confident this time around they'll turn out great tho

 

ok so i'm back lol. I went online & ordered some bubblelicious hopefully it'll arrive soon i been going crazy waiting lol but i'm hoping this time around i grow some awesome bud.

 

woohoo lol, I got 'em along with some freebies. i started germinating them tonite.

 

ok so here's an update 3 out 4 bubblelicious seeds have popped & i'm hoping the haze seeds pop in a few days.

 

here's another update the 3 bubblelicious plants have been doing great one is a little mutated but outside of that they're ok & i have 2 other ones from bagseeds a week older actually that i had started growing b4 i got the bubblelicious seeds. as far as my set up i'm using 5 42watt cfls which put out 2600 lumens each, my growing medium is miracle grow...and yes i know there's better soil but it's been doing wonders for me lol, & i've been using schultz all purpose plant food plus. here's some pictures of them however i actually started flowering one of the bagseed plants today & tomorrow i'm going to start the other. i've been using Marijuana BUDS for less - Grow 8 oz. of bud for less than $100 by SeeMoreBuds as my point of reference so i'm hoping for a good turnout.

lol thanks for dropping by...been holding off b4 i posted again till i had some good progress.....i'm gonna take a pic of the other plant that i started flowering & my man's plant too, she's actually a lot older than all the rest & i've been lsting her...she's been flowering now for a week.

By the way I was wondering if anyone could help me out & tell me what could be causing my girls to droop...
