never really checked out Craigslist before .. A friend says : They have a lot of stuff in their classifides .. So I looked on pets for my area and found 100s of posts for people who wanted to get good homes for pets .. He is a mini-pen ! blk. & tan ! So far he is kinda skidish & hideing under table by my easy chair, Or laying on my feet loL .. But he is smart & seems well behaved so far .. I say sit, he sets right down, I say get down he jumps right off lap to foor .. But this is his 2nd. day !! yesterday he hardly came out of pet box .. My lil Shish Tzu has took her toys to him few times, but he's not wanting to play with her yet This morning she let hi have food first, but when I come into kitchen this morning he ran in livein room looking at me and layed down in front of my easy chair ..
Sounds like you've got a dog with some insecurity issues. Just be patient. I'd suggest removing the pet box for a few days, and encourage the dog to sleep in a dog bed and hopefully cuddle up your other dog eventually. You'll have to accept that your dog may never be "normal" and might always be skidish and that isn't all that uncommon. The dog likely simply doesn't know how to play with toys or the other dog games. I took 18 months to teach my dog to play fetch...and you better not through it to far, because if you do he won't go get it...lol The main focus of your training for a nervous dog is to teach them to ignore the things that make him nervous. My dog was always attacking other dogs because of his insecurities, but now he walks by without even looking at them. And he's happier for it. Be patient and good luck.
