Actually i do apply it to everything. anarcho-capitalist/minarchist/individualist/libertarian/agorist you see. most if not all taxes are immoral. but that's another discussion in another thread. this ones's about universal healthcare. and no, it's not my responsibility to educate your kids.
Since the advent of HMOs sanctioned by the US congress, US citizens now have no choices. Hell our doctors can only prescribe what some accountant says applicable. A lot of us don't have insurance because our government went out of it's way to bust unions, and destroy employee rights. No one is asking for anything free they are only asking for the right to seek reasonable medical care when they need it. They are tired of seeing the bills amplified so that the providers can receive the maximum renumeration. All doctors have to attend retraining seminars every year, have any idea what most of them cover? They cover how to get the greatest return with the least amount of time spent on each patient and how to protect themselves when stupid mistakes are made, because they aren't spending the time or consideration on patients that they should be. Just who are they accountable to?
Amusing when people use a technology developed with tax money to argue that tax money isn't good for anything. Taxes are simply the dues one pays if you want to be a part of civilization. And of course, like in any group that charges dues, there's always someone who just won't pay their fair share, and expect everyone else to cover for them. It's okay, we'll carry his dead weight, and we will all be better off for having done so.
Politicians can't shun health care debate As provincial health budgets kept ballooning, the politicians concluded it was more productive to focus on other issues... Politicians can't shun health care debate
The reason everyone is against universal health care is because everyone knows paying $500 a month on insurance policies is way better than a $500 per year increase in their taxes.
