That's a pretty cheap excuse. Fact is we are a war mongering nation, and we (the American people) can change it if we really wanted to. The power lies with the people, we outnumber them.

 

Unless you cut the money off to the machine wars will continue to be waged. Funding the war isn't supporting our troops it's profiting the war machine. We now use the euphemism of private contractors, what they are is high paid underregulated mercenaries. We insist on no full accounting of no bid contracts that have lead to huge overpayments and non delivery of supplies and equipment, that ends up on the black market supplying the very enemy we are supposed to be fighting.

 

If President McCain wants to put nukes or troops in Poland, you're going to get them, whether the Polish people want it or not. You and your country have no say in the matter. Period.

 

We just said NO about week ago. Lithuania also said NO. USA must be surprised.

Our premier is our guy! He born with new age soul like we have. Good men. Honest and truth worthy.
So 'never trust politicians' doesn't work in his case.
USA still can talk with our government. But until Tusk is ruling we will be delaying decision to slow down USA military ideas. It's time for wise guys.

President Obama might very well want the same thing. Afterall he seems to be in lock step with the republicans on FISA, and the SPP. Seems he studied at the same schools and belongs to the same brotherhoods. The one thing they all seem to have in common is the love of the color green.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk stuck to a hard line this week on the installation of US missile shield facilities in Poland, rejecting Washington’s latest offer and saying he believed the approach would eventually reap dividends. Polish negotiators have spun the talks on the shield infrastructure out for months longer than Czech counterparts, concerned they must win substantial concessions on funding and equipment for the army to make it worthwhile committing to a project that is likely to worsen relations with Russia.
Reports in the Polish press, apparently leaked by the US, had suggested a deal was in the offing last week. But Tusk turned down the latest offer on military aid and funding, and opinion polls show a majority of Poles back him holding out for more.
“The tough position of my government has a chance of yielding results,” Tusk told reporters in the middle of this week.
“I’m personally convinced that when it comes to the missile shield the American side is beginning to understand the reasons why we are insisting on Poland’s security in these talks.”
Tusk says Poland wants U.S. assurances of short- and medium-range anti-missile systems, including a Patriot missile battery to shore up its own defenses.
Russia has bitterly opposed the project from the start, prompting concerns in Warsaw that it cannot accept the installations without substantial compensation from the U.S. because of the damage it would do to relations with the Kremlin that are only now thawing.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said late on Tuesday that Russia will react with “military and technical methods” to the Czech Republic’s decision to sign a final agreement on hosting a radar base for the shield.
The talks are also continuing despite doubts over the fate of the shield as a project after US presidential elections in November. The Associated Press reported Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski as saying on Tuesday that Republican Senator John McCain would carry out the Bush administration’s plans if he were elected. But he said he had no such assurances from Democrat Barack Obama. Though the two spoke by phone Monday, Sikorski said he avoided discussing missile defense.
Obama has been sceptical of the shield’s effectiveness and has said that a European missile defense system should be properly tested before it is built and deployed.

try to find interview Tusk with Wojewódzki in youtube.pl. He do not say that directly but he's pointing to that philosophical qualities that gardener is talking about. He is on our side of baricade. He is evenement on world scale because he thinks honesty and do not play on polictical games for a profit. He is a hippie in fact, he smoked ganja and drunk chip wine as he said 2 months ago.
