Wish me luck... I have a job interview at 5:30... in 2 and a half hours. I'm nervous... I really cant stand interviews. I get all nervous and stuff. I really really hope I get this job cause I really need it. :H
I'm nervous cause I kinda gotta lie about having experience serving (it's a pretty big place and you need experience to work there), but I have a story all made up and it's very believable. I'm just at the point where I dont care if i have to lie to get a job. Fuck telling the truth when it gets you no where!!!
Hopefully you haven't already gone to your interview when you read this, because I know of a really cool technique, it's an NLP linguistics technique, I don't remember what it's called. Basically you try to mirror the person you're interviewing with(you can do this with whomever you're talking to, a friend, a teacher, but I'll just use an interviewer to stay in context). Mirror their body language. Sit like they sit. Lean the way they lean. Fold their arms the way they do. Try to do this subtly, don't make it obvious or you'll look like you're mocking them. Smile when they smile, laugh when they laugh, and how they laugh. By doing this you'll give them the impression that you're on the same "wavelength" as them. They'll think, "wow, this person seems to be like me, we seem to really understand eachother," blah blah blah. I've done this myself in a few interviews and left being told that I had a great personality. If anybody wants to learn more about it or other techniques (or just other stuff about NLP linguistics): www.nlp-world.com
When I had a job I got interviewed a few times too. Usually for a local newspaper, but one time I got interviewed for national television too. Love, bird.
