This reminds me of a study I researched that measured the "happyness" levels of every country and compared that result to how wealthy the country as a whole is (it was for a paper and I was trying to see how happyness and wealth correlated with eachother). The US was pretty high in both areas, but the highest ranking country in terms of happyness (ultimately more important) was Denmark!

But in reality, I think most people regard their country as "the best" and that's humanity's downfall right there. Everything is a contest, who's more wealthy, who's religion is correct, who can eat the most hot dogs? Life for humanity is a competition and everybody thinks they're the best, when really, we're all the best and the worst at the same time.

Those are my thoughts on the whole situation, but then again, what the fuck do I know, I'm just a 20 year-old upper class American that doesn't have much to complain about

 

Okay, I will write that down and make sure to plan my trip around those dates.

 

Well- anything that my country says lacks credibility in the first place... but from the "official" perspective, the United States has very effectively worked to funnel more wealth from the working class to the very elite and will continue to do so. From the elite point of view it undoubtedly is the best but most surely not from mine. Big business has woven itself into the fabric of our government and has manipulated the function of our laws to squeezing extra money from the working man and woman. Of course with baby boomers starting to reach retirement age, government resources are starting to get sapped- especially with the expensive war crime being committed in Iraq; look for a depression style thinning of the herd to commence in the coming decade. It wouldn't surprise me if this were a plan in order to protect assets that would otherwise be sapped by entitlement programs like social security.

The United States is number one in the production of transparently insulting bullshit that only its citizens believe. We're likely number one in proportion of population that is completely dependent on the infrastructure for survival and when that infrastructure collapses the herd will pretty quickly be thinned... and many will be killed off at the hands of fellow displaced working class stiffs when competition for dwindling resources increases.

Yes, Ron Paul's system of returning to a gold standard would help, and withdrawing the troops in ever country not just Iraq.

Return to what the constitution says. A smaller Federal Government, let the states decide what is best.

Currently the Canadian Dollar is worth 2 cents more than the USD.

I do not think I have ever labeled the USA as the best anything.

But I have been around the world and the USA still offers more opportunity for someone willing to seize it, than any country in the world.

This is just my opinion.

I would rather be born in the US than any other country.

That being said I am no longer living in the USA.

For me in my life, Central and South America offer me more economically and freedom wise.

The only reason I have total freedom here is because I have the resources to buy freedom here.

But the poor souls who are born in South and Central America are born into a very rigid class system.

Here you are rich or poor- 90% live in what we would call extreme poverty with no electricity or running water. There is little to no chance of escaping the cycle of poverty here.

However, the USA does make the best weapon systems in the world.

If we went into detail, "America" has probably a very good record of helping others around the world.
And positive relationships with a whole host of governments.
