There is no dark astrology. You can't blame astrology for the poor judgement some people make in their lives.

Taurus and Scorpio can usually get along because they are on opposite sides of the wheel. and we are usually nice...unless you get in our way.

 

Actually, opposing signs are not supposed to get along too well. It's like an opposition aspect which is mostly considered malefic - a tense and convoluted influence. But still, you can never judge a person or a relationship by sun-sign only. It's like judging someone by the color of their hair. In astrology there are aspects to change almost anything.

 

My husband and I have polar opposite signs (Pisces & Virgo) and we're very close and get along great. In many ways we're pretty much identical, but in some ways we are polar opposites. But that's good... we learn from each other and find balance this way. I think many polar opposite signs attract and do well together. As far as when the Zodiac turns in on itself... I don't believe there's any such thing. We all have choices and each sign has a range that runs from the most positive to the most negative expression. Something doesn't just come along to take control of our will... we choose according to our level of awareness. But awareness isn't uniform. In some areas of our life we're more prone to expressing more of the positive aspect, in other areas it's more of the negative. Each one of us is capable of anything, from "saint" to "sinner".

 

Polar opposites in astrology have always fascinated me. I am a Libra, and being around Aries is extremely fulfilling to me. But, my brother is Virgo and my father is Pisces, and I can quite honestly say that if there was to be a World War III, they would be the first to start it.

 

I dunno. I'm a pisces and my father is a virgo and we get along just fine.

 

There's a lot more to a person than just their sun sign, so whether or not two people get along can't be explained through sun sign combinations alone. Often polar opposite signs come together to find balance in some way. One always has something to teach the other, so if there's resistance then what they're resisting is that very energy they need to learn most. If they were to embrace each other as a welcome and necessary "teacher" they could discover much joy and satisfaction in their relationship.

 

That's not likely to happen between my brother and father.. My father is a man who tries to emotionally manipulate, he feels he always must be in control of a situation, he tends to be a little pompous, he is not afraid to appeal to peoples' sympathy to get his way, and he tends to believe he is always correct in situations in which he is not.
My brother is quiet and reserved, but he enjoys taking control of a situation because he knows what needs to be done.. and he is very good at being in charge. He holds a lot of information, and is usually correct about everything he says, but he can be quite moody, dualistic, and very snippy.

So, what happens in the end? My father tries to manipulate, while my brother criticizes constantly how he is not doing it right.. my father claims he is doing it right, and begins to use sympathy to get his way, my brother criticizes more, my father begins to fight with him, my brother makes cutting remarks that throw my father off balance, and then he calls it quits and moves on to something else, while my father spends the rest of the day trying to pick fights in order to win.

We have quite the chaotic household, as you may have guessed.

 

What you've described is two people expressing the dysfunctional manifestation of their signs (or the most negative form). It's unfortunate, but it happens often. People get in a reactive & defensive mode, and so the negative comes out. They may be locked into this phase for a long time. And the hope is that one day it'll get so dysfunctional that one or both of them will become exhausted and snap out of it. That's always the possibility, but probably unlikely. In the meantime, they're giving the rest of us an opportunity to learn from them, and from their choices.

 

lol yes, I spend much of my day observing them in the midst of their antics, and get much entertainment/knowledge out of it. As a Libra though, you'd think I'd be stepping in and doing something about it.

Well actually, I've tried a to resolve their conflicts many times in the past... using a variety of my Libran tactics, like diplomacy, charm, and grace.. but the futile efforts have I guess discouraged me from acting any further

 

Other Libra traits include peace and balance (tolerance). So sometimes it's simply for us to "be the peace we wish to see in the world" and have tolerance for others who are not yet able to do that.

 

i read your homepage site (well only about my sign and taurus) and it was the first sight that ive seen that had mostly negative things to say about opposing signs. the reason why i said what i did is because my boyfriend and i are examples of a positive scorpio-taurus relationship, and i have met quite a few other scorpios who are in a serious positive relationship with taurus. not that i know too much about astrology, i definitely read a lot about it, but by no means study it. i know that a part of why our signs do get along well is because i am a water sign, and he is an earth sign--i say that it makes mud. as an earth sign he definitely keeps me stable and away from my spontaneous scorpio ways. im not nearly as crazy or manipulative with him as i am without. but i did find that all of the negative aspects the site mentioned, my bf and i have definitely met/fought about, but we have overcome them and have become much closer to each other through the positives of our signs correlations.

we also happen to go well together in chinese zodiac, and numerology.

and of course i believe that you can stray from any stereotypes.

Definitely. In astrology there are many planetary aspects and locations that can radically alter the characteristics brought about by any sun-sign. The professional astrologer always weighs the whole chart before passing judgement.

 

Another theme I have noticed several times in different Taurus-Scorpio relationships is that the Scorpio side can severely underestimate harsh emotions of the Taurus side regarding the relationship. Taurus can become quite resentful, and Scorpio be completely unaware of it.
