to inspect all the kids teeth and pull the teeth that needed pulling. I couldn't enjoy my lunch, I was so nervous. I started sweating and shaking and all the other teachers thought it was hilarious. Why are people afraid of the dentist?
Like most that have to toss the word Dr. at you, they create pain! There are things they can do to make it all better and easier for us but either time or money seems to make them just want to hurt us.
I'm not so afraid of the dentist, after all the worse I've ever gotten was 2 cavities filled with a good amount of nova cane. The dental hygienist, on the other hand, always seem to rip my mouth to shreds when "cleaning" the pearly whites. Bitches.
dentistry is one field where it has never gotten less barbaric than it was a 150 yrs ago... n most dentists seem rather sadistic n enjoy causing fear and pain so we associate the word with both those things making us very uncomfortable as a whole,,, thank god for them new kynd kiddie dentists
I had legitimate reasons to be fearful today. If one of them got to look in my mouth they would cream themselves in sadistic pleasure. I have about 4 large cavities, 3 chipped teeth and one tooth that's split in half. I can move both halves freely of each other.
The dentist is totally meh to me. They have flatscreens attached to the chair so at least Im amused but I just hate the feeling/sound of the whole scenario.
i never understood that fear either. a visit to the dentist is never what i want to be doing, but it's never horribly unpleasant either. except the time they gave me novacaine and it made me sick, but that was just once, and really not that bad...
one time when I was little, my grandmther asked me what I wanted to do and I replied with "I want to go to the dentist" apparently I loved the video game machine in the waiting room of the dentist office ALOT.
They wouldn't give dentures for that. The split tooth needs to be fixed. Pulled then either bridged or replaced with an artificial tooth. Leaving it empty can cause the adjacent teeth to start tilting. You'd have to have gum disease where you lost most or all the teeth or have advanced dental caries in many teeth to justify dentures. .
