Which things are "worth it" to recycle?

I know that some things take more energy to recycle than throw away, and this usage of energy is worse for the environment than putting it in a landfill.

I've heard recycling metal cans is worth it. What else? Is paper one of them? Plastic? I have to haul my recycling 20 minutes away so I want to know what I should put the effort into and what not to.

I use paper to put back into the ground (missouri dirt issues)

sniffing them gets you high

and definitely used condoms

 

I'm about to go through years of grad school papers, journal articles, etc. to make some extra room. I'll probably have trash bags full.

maybe old girlfriends can be recycled? I mean some people like other peoples girlfriends and maybe an ex wife can be too. I offer 1 ex wife who is a mooch!

 

Nope, I had one that was a mooch till she stopped calling, not looking for a replacement
