Call me a hypocrit but I refuse to let some dude "hit and quit it" my daughters before they're of legal age... But that's what good parenting is for, and knowing what your kids are up to instead of finding out later on when she comes home pregnant.

proper preparation and parenting can almost wipe out these chances. you know, the general 18 years are to prepare someone for life, have them understanding and give them the edge you didnt have when you were that age.

guarding and interigating them, also doing everything to find out where they are just shows poor parenting.

trust has been a big factor in my family, my parents donot interogate me or ground me when i come home 6am with some girl, but fact of the matter is i dont get her preg either. i also dont do anything against her will.
though im surprised how so many like to over exagerate so much, as to make it seem like a smile and an eye glance is fucking attempted rape.

seriously? these over protective fathers disgrace me, yes its you child, someone who will need to learn to take care of themselves,fix the poor parenting you know - not continue to stay in after 6pm, go to sleep at 8pm, have no general life outside of work and have a mental breakdown at the age of 35 when she finds out her husband is cheating.

seriously world is so screwed up nowadays, if i had a son (whom i most likely never) i would do my best to prepare him for stupid women and stupid adults, something im thank full ive been prepared for and saved so much time in.

 

wth this thread is an odd one.. but yes overprotective fathers i think are a problem nowadays.

 

i made a deal with my mom, that i would wait till i was 16 and had a 3.5 gpa. granted, i only thought i had brought my grades up, but when i realized my mistake it was too late.

if parents talk to their kids, and more importantly if the kids talk to the parents, then everyone can make better decisions. my mom put me on the pill for my 16th birthday, and explained on a trip to dairy queen how to perform a decent blow job. plus she let me read some 'questionable' novels, with exquisite detail. its all about knowledge.
I have a 2 year old son, and i figure if i play my cards right, he'll be able to confide in me, and i'll be able to explain to him the risks that the schools refuse to.
