I wish we still had one. We had a Wild Oats but they got bought out by Whole Foods who then decided to close the store down.
nonfat, sugar free, non-dairy, plain-flavor ice milk. I honestly think it's just a container of cold air.
It's not that much more expensive. As long as you get in season produce and their generic brand you can get away cheaper than the grocery store. Today I went and bought: a pound of free-range chicken dog treats a box of soft all-natural dog treats 5 cans of their generic brand dog food (no corn or crap that dogs can't digest) 2 pints of organic blueberries 1 pint of organic straberries organic non-fat milk organic vegan-agave sweetened ice cream ben and jerry's ice cream organic penne pasta non-toxic toliet cleaner non-toxic bathroom cleaner green tea an organic free range turkey sausage organic pink lady apples and four bottles of organic belgian style ale all for under 60 bucks all of this would have cost more in the grocery stole
the nearest whole foods- actually a privately owned "whole food marke"- not part of the chain... is also 50 miles away. Some stuff IS cheaper there- organic whole foods , veg stuff xylitol that is hard to find other places.. BUT it is def way more expensive for GROCERIES bulk rice, nuts, beans, wheat flour ...than a local grocer.
I can't remember the last time I bought pre-packed food or any of them 'add meat' sauces. It must be at least 4-5 years ago. And I haven't been trying to eat healthy or anything, it's just that most of that stuff taste like complete crap.
i read taht its smartest to shop the peripheries of the grocery so that you mostly hit up fresh foods, like fresh veg and fruit and the meat department, and avoid the uber process over packaged crap in the regular aisles. makes sense to me, though i do still stop in the aisles for a few things
Everytime I go to the grocery store (which is quite often with a family of five!) I wonder why or how on Earth people can consume some of the garbage that I see there. I hate to be a grocery snob, but I often find myself checking out other shopper's carts and turning my nose up at the contents. *laughs* Seriously though, it boggles my mind what some people actually consider food.
I love watching people at stores, have yet to really look at carts (i have to check that out) but ppl are funny. Really fat people like look around before going down isles with junk food and such like to be sure ppl dont notice. I mean if your fat and want more junk food and you have the money, its your body have a ball.
A rare but equally funny site is the young teenage guy who inadvertantly wanders into the aisle of female sanitary products and when he realises it, buries his head in his chest and sprint-walks off the aisle with burning cheeks. Love it!
I love how people assume that if it comes from the whole foods co-op, that it is automatically healthy. My whole foods carries Ben an Jerrys, which is mighty fabulous if I may add, but definitely not up there on the health spectrum. Pretty sure it's processed as well...and it's most definitely not the only thing... But I'm totally in agreement with how nasty velveeta is. Anybody who buys it should be shot. But seriously, rubin, I swear I've seen you post about how you eat a tv dinners. Pot...meet kettle. Seeing people buy boxed food, well, it doesn't bug me or anything...most of it I wouldn't personally eat, but my taste are pretty weird. I do think it's funny when I see a cart load of coke/mt dew. Yuck. Can you say cavity city?
I do that all the time, it freaks me out what people buy. two weeks ago, there was a guy with 9 bags of chips, some soda and a watermelon. I also saw some guy with 2 packs of PC beer which kinda made me gag, that stuff is worse than Lucky! Upon leaving the store, I noticed he was driving an SUV
Mostly Hot Pockets, but I need some easy, quick snack to eat on my work lunch-break. Hot Pockets are filling and extremely convenient. I also drink both Mt. Dew and Coke... imagine that! The caffeine keeps me rockin'.
I just remembered, the other day I was getting a few things and this old lady in front of me pointed to something I had and started talking about how you can microwave it in 3 minutes and I told her I didn't have a microwave, she started almost "yelling" at me about how can't I have one in this day and age. SERIOUSLY she was like 90 and she looked at me like I killed puppies or something for not having a microwave! THEN she starts telling me where I can buy one for cheap or whatever.
when I went to the grocery store I was so thirsty for some juice... and I wanted the real fruit juice with no concentrate just straight up good for you kind of juice.... and wouldnt you know it every single gallon of juice in the juice isle is from concentrate or the first ingrediant is sugar... this makes me sick really and everyone wonders why they have diabettes or some other heath issue... all the processed food and all the food most people buy is junk no good for you at all.
^^^^^ Everybody dies anyways. Might as well enjoy the time you're here, and speed up the death process, by enjoying juice out of concentrate. I use to make my own juice with a juicer...that's always an option...
yeah i should invest in a juicer but the moral is there really isnt any healthy food in a supermarket anymore... everything is fake... even chicken is cloned and is distributed as real high quality meat
We have some stores that sell REAL food and stuff. I usually go there but it's out of the way so if it's just one thing or something I'll go the the other places fuck and it seems everything is bio-engineered these days to make it "better" :toetap05:
