I know meditation is about finding inner peace so I post this here. I've been meditating for about a month but I'm currently under great anger and I wanted to know what you think about how to deal with this. Any thoughts, tips, experiences, etc., on dealing with strong negative emotions in a meditative way?
Its hard to keep a lid on a boiling pot of water. You must first address the reason for the anger. This may involve some unpleasant looking in the mirror stuff. Although external things may trigger anger, anger itself comes from within. Physical workouts are still primo for getting things out of your system. Go for a bike ride. Chop some wood. Clean up your room. Anything to take the wind out of your sails. If you're physically tired, you don't have much energy to waste on being angry. But first, identify why you're angry. x
Thanks for the tips i'll put my mind to it, and it makes me think that I do need to do more physical exercice...
Well, you have to find a way or relaxing and coping with that stress, and anger, and negativity. Personally I would try to get rid of all negativity immeditatelly, it builds up and just is attatched to you, you could use sage sticks, and perform a smuging ceremony, with smudge Sage sticks. Anywho, to get rid of anger, I have a few certain methods, I either go for solitary walks on railroad tracks, to clear my mind. I find it soothing. Otherwise, I make hemp necklaces, bracelets, or other works of art, it takes my mind off of the anger. Lastly, I put on relaxational, meditational music, you can find it in many stores, or online/itunes/limewire, etc. Then I just sit and meditate, it puts me in a beter mood, i usually burn incense, and candles, and you can get ritual-candles, and "well-being" "positivity" whichever you'd like, personally i think it works. It's sorta like "does santa claus exist", sorta thing, you gotta have faith.
