Uhhh, I'm watching Charlie Rose and I believe I just saw your President veto a bill to bring your troops home?

Sounds like Mr. Bush committed to 7 sequels. But that is what he always sounds like.

Do you honestly believe he writes his own speeches? There's nothing the guy says he isn't told to say.

Check out Frank Caliendo's impersonation of GW Bush. He does Bush's voice and mannerisms great. He uses phrases such as "We have to stop Saddama bin Laden over in Iraqistan."

And there's nothing that he's told to say that he can repeat in a coherent manner.

can't anyone give them credit for brilliance?

ever hear rumsfeld? he's even worse!
They go as far as confusing bin laden with saddam!!!!!!!

think about it, its a brilliant speech tactic. Make the audience think you make mistakes on the regular or that you are outright dumb. and you can get away with making linguisitic fallacies cuz you conditioned your audience!!!!

Fuck, somebody give him credit, I personally think Cheney/Rumsfeld/Bush[in that order] is brilliant and any future politician should take careful notes. (very careful cuz its that brilliant!!!!)

Yeah, Rumsfeld made that slip a number of times. It's like that comedy sketch on MadTV where Bush mentions Saddama bin Laden in Iraqistan.

Personally, I think he's gotten some of his pointers from Hitler, who was an amazing speaker, even if he was crazy. Come on, how can 1 insane man take a country & convince the population to believe his insanity if he WASN'T convincing? Bush has learned well that the mass will believe one large lie (many of them!) b/c they constantly hear these lies spoken as truth. Look at the march to war, everyone in the media, pundits, editors, talk show hosts, "reporters" were all saying the same thing- Saddam has WMD's, Saddam was involved in 9/11, and no one checked the validity of these claims. Hitler would have been proud of his protégé.

When did presidents or politicians stop writing there own speeches, or did they ever start? A brief google suggests people from Lincoln to Churchill even FDR and JFK had speech writers. I suppose they have enough on their plate with out sitting down and writing long complicated intricate (sometimes profound) speeches.

As for Bush, thankfully I don't hear many of his speeches, so it is not an annoyance to me.
    Just brief snippets.
Would I judge him on his mumblings and fumblings? Nagh.
You have to take him and his admin' as a whole.
Some people are good orators others are not.

What Bush/Cheney and company have done was done with a lot of thought and careful marketing and it worked.

Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld they've all made out. Rumsfeld will being getting money for his bird flu friends for years through the SPP. Wolfowitz was made president of the World Bank, too bad he got found out for paying off his girlfriend. Not sure how Ashcroft has made out, perhaps he's been the only big loser. Alberto Gonzales now has a lifetime appointment as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Chernoff now is Attorney General. They've done everything they set out to do and more.
