Just posting my monthly update. I've started wearing a t-shirt sleeve as a sort of hairband (my friend gave me the idea--made use of an old Hendrix t-shirt that has seen better days), and I've noticed that my neck doesn't get nearly as hot as it used to. Anyhow, onto the pics!
Strangely hairy, eh? Yeah, I guess I could use a shave, but I like just letting it go for some reason. No, my dreads aren't completely natural. Unfortunately I found the Dreadhead HQ website before I found this forum, and had backcombed my hair and applied wax once before I realized what a joke those kits are. Other than that, I've been going the natural route--just ripping apart the ones I don't want congo-ing, and using Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree to clean, with an occasional sea salt spraydown. Here's a pic of my t-shirt sleeve headband thing--this awesome dready girl I met at work gave me the idea:
i always did that too but in summer chopped the sleeves off to many shirts already now i might only have 2 shirts left with sleeves
NO SHAVING to be overt, you are hot but then i have a *thing* for redheads other than that, your hair looks great i like the headband idea, i have an ugly shirt i was given, maybe i can try that for work.
Aww, thanks oshinn--I think that's the first time I've ever been called hot! But thanks for the boost to my self-confidence--I'm blushing over here lol :blush5:. Thanks to everyone else for the kind comments as well--my dreads have been a journey I've enjoyed thoroughly, and will continue to enjoy into the future
good deal man, they are coming along nicely. It's been just 26 days for me, but I relate to the journey keep going and keep us posted!
