I pretty much consider myself to be a free spirit. I hate the day to day drudgery of going to my boring job for eight hours and coming home. I wish I had a more exciting job where I could travel or spend time outdoors, being one with nature. My ultimate dream would be to sell everything I own and live in a van, going across the country jumping from job to job. But my husband likes to stay grounded, so I guess that dream is not going to happen. So do any of you free spirits out there have a job that you totally love??

I love both my jobs: reporter (paid to write)
    assistant concert producer (nuff said)

one of my favorite former jobs was in a plant nursery.

All are hard work, but they keep the belly full and feed the soul.

Well the best way I know is to join the Peace Corps but it can be a little expensive. Not sure exactly but you can always contact them. I do know that you can travel to wherever they send you, countries like Cambodia and Thailand, and live like the natives. Its a very unique experience.

If you live near a national or state park, I suggest the Forrest Service. Its hard work, but it is outdoors and more importantly, it is meaningful.

Right now I work at a callcenter, wich may sound like a boring and nasty job, but this one i special: I call people for donating for an good cause :) its a christian organisation and the atmosphere is so great there even though im not a christian myself I can totally connect.
Later in life I'll make a living with art. I do think thats a ' free spirit' job, you are your own boss and you are free to express your emotions and inspiration! Many people say that you cant make a living out of art, but I think you can always try, its worth it, and look at all the people that are really rich for being artists?

At the time I'm still at school, but I plan on being an artist and maybe open a hippie restaurant ^_^ That'd be my greatest wish and there's a good chance it'll come true.

Maybe you could try being a social worker (if you have everything you need) it's a good job and you help people with it.

I always thought being a forest Ranger would have been a Wonderful job...getting to spend all day at work amongst all the beauty of the outdoors....and get paid for doing it.
