I'm new here but not new.

Hey, everybody!

Okay, so, I'm a middle aged somewhat socially awkward techno-geek.. You know.. the kind of guy who got picked on in grade school by other kids for always participating in science fairs and junk like that. No, I was NOT one of the "cool" kids. (What was the point of all that, anyway?)

A little bit about myself, here.. I have strong, well educated opinions about a lot of stuff. I'm a touch on the arrogant side and am considered by others to be somewhat abrasive but that's all balanced out by having a non-materialistic very practical attitude about life, material things (what good is a thing if you can't use it and you can't give it away) the universe and everything.

I'm a renaissance man of practical bents and talents.

Some of my "hobbies" include; physics, engineering, mechanical engineering, drafting, inventing, astrophysics, theoretical mathematics, physics; practical application, laughing, making fun of fools, fighting the system, changing the world one person at a time, doing good for others around me (yes, that IS a hobby! LOL!)

Some of my other hobbies include; being "different", being considered by others as "crazy". (Um. hmm.. Tesla was "crazy", Bell was "crazy", even Einstein, Ford, Martin Luther King, Gandhi and others were "crazy". Anyone who tries to change the world is "crazy" but we already knew that.

Attributes: Kind, gentle, thoughtful, considerate, generous, practical, pragmatic, stoic, deeply passionate about the things I believe in, flexible, inventive, creative, artistic.

Okay, that's enough for now.

Anyway, I'm here now and I look forward to getting to know some, if not all of you. I know we're going to disagree about a lot of stuff from time to time but good, healthy, logical debate never killed anyone (except in the case of Alexander Hamilton who got rooked into a duel because of his big mouth. I don't think he died but I might have, I don't remember. LOL!)

No, I don't smoke pot, drink, do drugs other than tobacco and coffee. No, I don't drink soda pop, Gator Aide (Yuck!) or other mass-produced Aspartame-loaded weird things like that.

Okay, okay, so I smoke! Give me a break! I started when I was sixteen and haven't bothered to quit yet because it never caused me any particularly serious problems.

I like: Inventors, people with ideas, people willing to participate in changing the world, people who are totally committed to getting us all out from under and free from the present petroleum-based technology/economy/society/government.

Freedom! YEAH!! Best thing since sliced bread! It's the BERRIES!!

Other things I like: Positive attitudes.

Things I hate; Intolerance, violence, war for no reason or purpose (World War Two had a reason and a purpose. We can debate that.)

Other things I hate: Negativity from people who always start a sentence with, "we can't do that" (why can't we? Show me a reason!)

I don't want to hear "we can't do that!" I want to show and hear ways how and why we can!

The world, OUR world, the WHOLE world, a world full of PEOPLE all over, is in desperate need of change and vast improvement!

If we don't do it who will? Do you think the mega-corporations care in the least about changing the world for the better? No, I don't THINK so! Ever hear of Monsanto! There's a monster if there ever was one!

Okay now I've shared and ranted a bit. I know some of you might be a little offended by the sheer intensity of my personality and some of you might even be horrified but take the time to get to know me and you might well see things in me that you like or admire. I expect to find the same in you.
