the news hardly mentioned his death for fuck sake! watch this video everybody: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcUQDm2IOfQ
Yeah, I can't believe it either--it was a total shock to me and my parents when we heard the news on TV! We went to see him once a few years ago, and he was GREAT! His performance had everybody there practically rolling on the floor--he will be sorely missed, that's for sure!
I'm sure he's looking down on us all right now...and trying to pick out who to pee on first . R.I.P. George
Carlin was great, and laid the groundwork for a whole generation of comics. Doug Stanhope is my favorite living comedian, if you don't know him, look him up on Youtube.
The radar is picking up a line of thundershowers which extends from a point 9 miles NNE of Sicorgus, New Jersey, along a line and 6 miles either side of the line to a point 5 miles SSW of Fonduloch. However, the radar is also picking up a squadron of Russian ICBMs... so I wouldn't sweat the thundershowers. (George Carlin - Al Sleet, the Hippy Dippy Weatherman) One of my many favorites of Carlin's. I've been a fan of his since the 60's... the first time he was on the Johnny Carson show... His routines about religion are priceless, and so true!!
lol, now there's a guy for whom nothing is off limits. I saw him a month or two ago in Cincinnati, and there was a guy in the front row who was dying of cancer. "The cancer guy" was featured heavily in the show. He was probably 60-something in age, and was with his daughter. Stanhope says "screw it, I'm canceling my flight, cancer guy, and you and me are gonna roll." He eventually had the guy on stage doing nitrous with him. It was hilarious while still being respectful... reverent even, of this man's life and approaching death. Another dude I know stuck around after the show, and saw Stanhope and The Cancer Guy drinking together; when the Cancer Guy finally left, he told me, the whole bar was chanting his name in support. My son was at the show recently, and he's also gone to see Carlin live, and he liked Stanhope better. But Carlin laid the foundation.
Lol I found out in my Uncles newsletter that George was a subscriber to Vintage Misso from Misso Nation.
Definately one of the best comedians ever. Poetic, intelligent, and fearless. And there aren't too many people like that left in our culture.... I'm sad to see him go
george carlin predicted that someday some nut will go ape shit in a church and kill people, it has now happened, wow. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/5003132.stm
