failing a drug test and legal consequences?

My question:
I am about to take a drug test for a job interview and it might be difficult to pass..What if i don't pass? Can they contact the authorities?

What would they do otherwise, call and have you arrested for having pot in your system? No.

 

It's only illegal to possess drugs, not have traces in your system.

 

Is it a hair test or a bottle test?

You may be asked to repeat the test in a day or two but more likely the employer will get a report that says 'positive' and nothing more.
You don't get the job and they might or might not even tell you why.

imo the fact that jobs are even allowed to test your pee is invasion of privacy

 

It's not really invasion of privacy when your agreeing to be tested. and you wont get in any trouble for failing.

 

well if you want to get a job and make money, yes you do. you dont have to be tested but you do have to make a living and most jobs make you take one.

There's the "invasion of privacy argument" and then on the other side there's the "We're a private business and have the right to do what we want to hire our employees, and if we can find someone to work for us under our terms it doesn't bother us argument." Basically when it comes down to it, it's your choice if you want to smoke and be ineligible to work at a company that tests. Unless of course you have a whizinator then you are good to go.

 

Some states do have internal possession laws but failing a workplace drug test doesn't matter.

 

I actually feel sorry for you guys having to take a piss test it's just outrageous that you have to do that shit. I don't think they can do anything about it though so if you fail, tough luck no job.

A job interviewer notified my friend's probation officer and gave him a probation violation or something like that, he says.

 

That would make your friend an idiot for smoking on probation.
