Definitely wait longer. If for no other reason than to make sure that you don't have any latent mental disorders.

minds are constantly evolving, and especially at your age the intake of information will become altered if you take LSD.

my assumption is that you have a lot of mental growth to do, and that you should definitely wait until youre older, maybe 17 or 18.

I did it at fifteen, I was fine (some HPPD, just dont take eight hits like me.) I guess it depends on your mind, if you dont think youre ready, no one can tell you you are. I can tell you that its better not to go into it with a recreational mindset. Also, dont go into it with a spiritual mindset, I guess just go into it with no mindset. Be curious and prepared, but dont anticipate anything. Thats the best I can put it.

not to sound condesending at all, but there are many less mind-altering drugs that would be safer for you at your age.

try shrooms if you need to haalucinate. but avoid lsd and other high-power psychedelics until you know that you have matured to the necessary level (probably 17 or more- youll know for sure when your ready)

Ps: in reference to what i just said, you would be unready now if you feel compelled to ask (though asking IS GOOD)

Its hard to have a life-changing experience if your life isnt even constant to start with (ie: being teenager)

explain what the difference is between taking mushrooms and acid. I notice very few differences between the two experiences, and I dont think LSD is any more powerful than psilocybin. People definitely do seem to try mushrooms before acid, but both my first times were mindblowing, having tried acid first.

In my limited experience, going into psychedelics with no expectations, except to have fun, is the best way. The more you ask questions and think about it, the more likely youll try too hard to control your trip, which is a surefire way of having a bad time. Just let it wash over you like music, and let your mind wander, and I guarantee you will have a great time.

    18 IMO

Shrooms can be just as strong yada yada

  9. I'd highly suggest waiting to do LSD and even mushrooms, some can be just as potent as LSD...be careful. I agree with the 18+ also...

I began taking L at 14 or 15. Had fun but did not understand its beauty until this year.

...and I'd of thought 14/15 is a highly irresponsible age to be dropping substances like LSD.

Well, you gotta remember that everyone matures at a different rate. Age isnt a good gauge of your readiness, but since I dont know you, I cant evaluate your emotional and intellectual maturity. I did it at fifteen, and Im very thankful for it.

You should wait until you feel mature and well-adjusted in life. Have you read any books on the topic of LSD? It's important to know what you're getting into ahead of time. Obviously, another factor is whether there is a place you can go where you feel safe and secure while on a trip. You probably don't want to be in your room and have your parents walk in and see you on drugs, nor do you want to be out in public freaking people out.

    wow.
i know someone who first started taking psychedelics when they were 11. they ended up being the most unbelievably beautiful, creative, intuitive, just all-around wonderful person i've ever gotten to know.
i actually know a few people who've been taking psychedelics since a pretty young age, and all have an amazing lightness to them... they're playful, intelligent, empathetic, the kind of people that you just want to spend as much time with as possible.

i don't think age matters. i agree that you should read about psychedelics and the psychedelic experience before you decide whether you're ready or not. i cannot reccomend terence mckenna enough. you can download mp3s of his talks from matrixmasters.com, which has lots of good stuff to listen to from other people, or find a book of his. reading fear and loathing in las vegas is probably a good idea too. if you can get through that book and still want to give it all a try, you're as ready as you'll ever be. good luck.

oh, and yes, no matter what revelations come to you, stay dedicated to finishing school. wait and go through the existential argument of whether or not it really matters after you have your diploma.

I'm 16 and have been asking the same question. My decision was that I would wait until I was out of school (ie next summer) and off on a vacation to somewhere remote so I wouldn't be afraid of getting caught by parents/police. Ultimately the most important factor is the mindset. i know a lot of people who treated all drugs the same and think things like LSD are just more forms of alcohol. I don't know if that makes sense, but anyway, you should listen to your own feelings about it. If you think you should wait, wait. If an opportunity presents itself (an indication, or perhaps in invitation from the mysterious force that seems to conduct these sorts of things) than maybe its time.

I was 19, i waited intentionally hoping i could mentally prepare for it, but even at 19, it totally blew me away, and i had tried MANY different drugs before that. Id at least wait till 17 or 18 man, enjoy your youth, smoke up, hell try shrooms first, but acid when i was 15, to me, is unthinkable.

I don't think there was anyone who waited and regretted it...but I'm sure there's some who didn't wait and did regret it.

I think it's hard to get the right setting when you are young because there's always a chance that some parents or others will get involved and really ruin things. It's a lot harder to get the respect or to have the power to tell others to leave you alone when they look at you as a child in need. Even if you are camping in the middle of no where, someone may show up and think they have to "help" you if they consider you a child in need.
