What is the general consensus involving using sex personals to find hookups or no strings attached relationships?

I guess I'll explain my situation. I'm an 18 year old college freshman who is home on spring break. There is absolutely nothing to do. When there is nothing to do, thoughts naturally turn to sex. I decided to throw up a personal on craigslist for the sheer fun of it, just to see if anyone would respond. Well responses I got, and now I'm actually considering going through with it. Am I absolutely crazy?

personals never worked for me but i met a lot of womenfor sex from online chat rooms. i always felt it important to meet and chat - and then talk by phone - before meeting, rather than having something totally anoymous. i found you could make a much better idea about a person after talking to them by phone than by chatting only online / exchanging emails.
maybe i m a good judge of character, or maybe just lucky, but i had some very good sex this way.

Go for it man, get out there and hit some strange ass. I've never joined one of those sights, sounds worthwhile though, almost seems to easy. From what i've seen, they're good though because you can look at their pictures, read about them, so you can really choose the right girl, assuming she likes you back.

But I'm curious to know whether sex personals work.
