I say that this is a good place to write about them. There deffenitally an experimental band. Anyways these guys are one of my absolute favorite bands there a big influence on my life. My favorite ablums by them are Sister, Daydream Nation, Dirty, Goo, and Evol. Thurston Moores pushed the limits for guitar playing with his alternate tunings, and noise facisnations. Kim Gordon is a repectable bass player to. (probally one of the bast female bass players)
Tracks like Schizophrenia,White Cross,Tuff Gnarl,Providence,Erics Trip,Rain King, and Sugar Kane just puts shivers down my spine. Who else loves this band as much as I?

I pretty much grew up on them......I saw a video for "Death Valley '69" on this late night cable show once, and I was intrigued...i went out and bought Sister a few days later, that was their newest at the time, and I was blown away, but not in a good way at first....I was like "what the fuck is this?!" and put it away for maybe a month. I decided to give it another try and found that I loved it.

My favorites are Evol, Sister, Bad Moon rising, and Daydream Nation

i think bad moon rising has the coolest cover!

Anyway, I've seen them a bunch of times, but the best time was the first one, on the 1990 Goo tour....the worst time was at this festival in Orange County, CA. they had all of their guitars stolen during the trip there and wer forced to use standard Les pauls etc.....wasn't the same at all.

Have you heard the new album? I think it's excellent. I also like Washing Machine and A Thousand Leaves a lot.

Brilliant...love Sonic Youth...Have most of their records through Washing Machine (including Ciccone Youth project)...

I'm a big sucker for Thurston Moore...his Psychic Hearts record is the best thing Sonic Youth never did...

Sonic Youth is great, some of their songs just stick in your head. I have seen them play live several times and they haven't stopped kicking 'a.

Can your believe Thurston Moore is in his late 40's? The guy still looks 28.
