This dip is an icon of Kiwi summer. It was a staple of childhood parties, and my mates travelling overseas tell me that it's one of the major things they miss on specail foodie occasions like christmas.

    anyway, you need
    1 can reduced cream
1 packet powdered onion soup - (maggi is the brand to use for pure noltalgia)
1 tsp of lemon juice or vinegar
you stir them together, refrigerate at least 1/2 an hour and serve. it goes with chips or raw vegies.

    It is surprisingly good :)

Hi there. I've never heared of reduced cream. Could you please explain to me? This dip sounds really neat - I'd like to try it. I couldn't find reduced cream in the dairy section at Commisso's grocery store. :$

    I'm thinking sour cream?

Because I make a dip basically the same with sour cream and lipton onion soup mix. :D

Sour cream it is not! Reduced cream is just what it sounds like it is, sort of thick cream with water taken out of it. It comes in tins, if that's helpful.

Sounds really good, but reduced cream is something I've never heard of... I can imagine it, but can't imagine finding it for sale around here.

You wannabe-aussies eat chips/veggies and dip for christmas?
