They tend to notice if you walk into the drug testing clinic with a room temperature cup of piss.

Well, they technically can't piss test me now since the accident's already over, the report is in, and I didn't seek medical treatment. They'd have to do the test on the day of the accident for it to even be relevant.

Hell, Daniel (my significant other) has been shocked by 220 volts (I was only shocked by 110), and he's fine. His sperm, we're not so sure about, but we'll worry about that when we decide to make babies. Me, I'm fine. I was mostly shaken up and an already sore back was just aggravated further. I have every intention of getting my ass up in the morning to not only open the store, but work an eight hour shift in the same position I worked today. :D Honestly, I think my time there is slowly coming to a close, so I think the farthest I'm going to take this is making sure no one else gets shocked by the damn thing and keeping in touch with my district manager cuz we're really close. I will, however, do everything in my power to make sure that no one else gets jolted across the ice cream area. Most of my friends work there and if someone died because of that thing, I'd NEVER forgive myself.

Someone's going down. Excellent. Follow this through Amanda. Do they seriously drug test you for a lawsuit?

dude, you blacked out from 110 volts, haha WEAK!!! actually that 110 is really 120. 110 is the minimum operating voltage 125 is the maximum for most household appliances, the power company likes to send about 120 to the outlet. Also its the voltage that shocks you not the amps. don't believe me? touch both terminals of a car battery nothin' right, but short a screwdriver across the terminals and watch the SPARKS!!! The reason for this is that voltage is forced into things and amps are drawn it. Your skin is a very pour conductor it wont even register as any amount of continuity in all but the most sensitive electrical testers, there for it takes a fairly good amount of voltage to get through the skin. But the screwdriver will create a good sized spark because the screwdriver has very good continuity.

Note if you do this for more than a split second you will damage the battery and possably cause FIRE! you should disconnect the positive and negative leads to the battery before you try this in order to prevent damage to your cars electronics.

You're lucky you're still living. Faulty grounding is unacceptable.

Here are some stories from the OSHA sight. It's easy to get killed.

Everything from electrocutions to being crushed to death by a pizza machine.

A 120 VAC outlet actually puts out about 170 V peak. The 120V is the rms voltage which is a root mean square voltage.

Well, when I went in today, I checked and the maintenance guy had come back and put the cover on it, but apparently made it known that it was "my fault" and "we should always check everything electrical for proper covers." Hello? Sorry, but Dairy Queen doesn't exactly hire electricians or friggin' geniuses on a day to day basis, so maybe that's YOUR job, Mr. Maintenance Douche? I think I'm going to carry a cattle prod with me and get him next time he comes in.
