Hey, I am currently on lexapro, which is an ssri ant-depressant, and I really want to take LSD. But, I have heard that ssri's make it almost impossible to trip, or at least make your trip much much weaker. I smoke ganja a lot and it works great lol, so although I know its much different from LSD, I wonder what would happen if I i did drop acid. Does anyone have any advice or experience, on how much acid I should or shouldn't take being on anti=depressants and all.
two ways to go about it: 1) eat it and find out, but risk wasting it or 2) stop taking ssris for 30 days, eat it, and find out or 3) search google for SSRI + LSD and do some research - dont take LSD + Lithium I heard it can f**k you up (citation: Erowid - http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/lsd/lsd_health3.shtml)
Well i havent even done acid yet but i remember when i was taking prozac (20 mg daily) tried to trip on morning glories twice (around 150 seeds i think) and no effects at all and the chemical in morning glories-lsa(lysergic acid amide) is very similar to acid-lsd(lysergic acid diethylamide)
lsa is much less visual, and much weaker. 1mg of lsa is equal to about 100ug of lsd. there's approximately 1ug of lsa per morning glory seed. just keep that in mind. t
SSRI's and psychedelics DO NOT MIX. The problem is the SSRI's fight off psychedelics more or less by keeping a steady flow of serotonin up. I had friends who did shrooms while on Welbutrin and the other Zoloft and they were barely affected by them. Your best bet would be to not take the Lexapro on the day you trip and hope for the best... I would highly advise anyone on SSRI drugs to stay away from psychedelics though as they can alter your psych tremendously...as if SSRI's dont already But that's another story... Good luck
