hey now, looking at new job leads/ life changes/ less snow, again. what can you tell me about Gilroy and environs?
i lived in that area and never went to gilroy... i guess there is a garlic theme park there or something. plus it IS close to santa cruz!
gilroy has lots of farmland, but its developing, they just built a pretty big strip mall by the major hwys. bout an hour away from frisco,
by eyeballing a map it looks like Santa Cruz is an hour (figuring for the mountain pass) am I on track with that?
I've never actually been to Gilroy, but I've passed Gilroy while on the highway. In the summer, it was, and the air was redolent of garlic. Seriously. I am not making this up.
I know about the garlic, therefore the title. I know when you process ANYTHING the area smells like it. Never live near a sausage factory. I'm off to see for myself on the 9th.
I grew up in Porterville, California, and the most gawd-awful stench I ever smelled in my life were the times after they harvested the olives and then cured them. Ewww! Here in Fresno, I'd have to say that the wineries smell the worst.
isn't that cali south of arcata in general, if at all "rural"? Yeah, calling Gilroy fully rural seems a stretch. i'm off to there in a week.
