No thanks I'd rather move back to Canada than get involved. The whole concept of the war will never work. Iraq had nothing to do with the 911 attacks. Its the fact that the United States has to police the world that drives terrorism. Terrorism that isnt a false flag attack that is. There is no plan for withdrawl.

I believe in an America that is runned by the States, not by the Interests of the Federal government, that's what America is supposed to be, I also believe America should stop policing the world, with draw all our troops all over the world. Get rid of the deficit and return to a gold standard.

At one time the States had their own money that could at anytime be turned in for silver and gold, our current money is far from that, and depleting in value even more. Partly because of the 100s of Billions of dollars the United States Government spends on the war.

Also returning to the US with PTSD and a distorted and depressed sense of reality is not my cup of tea. Struggling just to find enough meaning to stay alive, with very little benefits from the government.

There are reasons that there are troops in Iraq; probably none of them are very good reasons but there ya have it. Do you plan on walking to Canada instead of using a car, fueled by foreign fuel, to get there? If not, why I'd suppose you would be involved. There, that's my trite statement I get to use.

Anyways, I'll admit the US Armed Forces are all sorts of fucked up. It's part of the draw, baby. We're the evil right now. After this war is over and sometime blows past, it will be some other country, who possess the same fucked up quality, who gets to be the evil. We're humans---we like to stomp on the little guys. It's all about us. I'll laugh in your face if you think you're different. You're not. So keep on pointing that finger, and it's going to keep pointing back at you 3 fold.

It sounds like you're somehow trying to justify the war.

War happens... evil happens... so we might as well just go along with it because, well, we just should.

 

For Christ's sake...If you're going to condemn the war, atleast do it better than having to result to Godwin's Law.

It is NOTHING like Nazism or the Holocaust.

To say so is just completely disrespectful and trivialises the heinous crimes of the Holocaust and the Nazis. The point of the Holocaust was to eliminate WHOLE races; something that had never been attempted before.

Iraq may not be justful, but it isn't anywhere near the scale of World War 2 nor the atrocities of the Third Reich.


As for the OP: why do you care what a bunch of hippies have to say about you going to join the services? Isn't the answer going to be blantantly obvious? You don't need anyones approvel to make a grown decision. If you do, you obviously aren't ready to sign your life away.
