He was 58 years old. Russert, who rose from the inside world of politics where he was former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo's press secretary and one-time chief of staff to the late Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, was able to successfully cross over to political journalism and rise to become one of its leading lights. In his role as host of the seminal Sunday morning political program "Meet the Press" - which he took over in 1991 - he became renowned for his hard-nosed interviews where he frequently cornered some of Washington's cagiest political figures with tough questions. Russert joined NBC News in 1984. In April 1985, he supervised the live broadcasts of the Today program from Rome, negotiating and arranging an appearance by Pope John Paul II - a first for American television. In 1986 and 1987 Russert led NBC News weeklong broadcasts from South America, Australia and China. In 2008, Time Magazine named him one of the world's 100 most influential people.
I’ve always enjoyed watching TR he will be missed On a positive note: R. Kelly was acquitted of all charges Friday after less than a day of deliberations in his child pornography trial, ending a six-year ordeal for the R&B superstar. Kelly dabbed his face with a handkerchief and hugged each of his four attorneys after the verdict — not guilty on all 14 counts — was read. Minutes later, surrounded by bodyguards, he left the courthouse without comment. Dozens of fans screamed and cheered as he climbed into a waiting SUV. :cheers2: Hotwater
Yeah, who cares that R. Kelly had sex with a 14 yr. old and filmed it. Just shows what a classy guy he is and a role model to today's younger generation. Guarantee you a white guy would have never gotten away with that. Then again, he claims it wasn't him on the video, so maybe it wasn't.
I don't want to meet the press. But yeah sad about Tim. I didn't agree with him most of the time. But he was cool. Peace
Thats fucked up, "He should of dropped Acid at Woodstock when he had the chance"... He'll be missed by me... Truely I always liked his commetary.... Well guess he'll be covering the election on the other side... The most exciting race for president kills the man with the most passion to cover it.. Ill miss you TIM....
well if he was white we would know if it was him in the video... unfortunately all black people look the same
