    so heres whats up.

i got my septum pierced a little over a week ago.
first of all, i bought a 14 gauge septum retainer,
which is used to easily flip up into your nose to hide your piercing from parents, employers, etc.
    so cute!
    good idea, right?

    problem is:
i had to take it out the next day because it wouldn't tuck into my nose.

i got into a huge fight with my mom then got kicked out
so i figured what the hell..
i'll just put it back in.

the 14 gauge wouldn't fit back in so i put a 16 gauge "captive" ring in instead..
i then bought a 16 gauge horseshoe kit type thing from hot topic,
only to find that the horseshoe wouldn't tuck either :/
    its really cute
    it matches my personality well..
the problem is that i am looking for a job
and i need to hide it for interviews, etc.

i've come up with cutting the retainer to a smaller size
or finding a 16 gauge ear plug..

does anyone have any other ideas for making it fit in my tiny nose??

Many shops sell 16g retainers for your septum, as 14 or 16 are the standard size to pierce it at but if you can't find one you can widen your circular barbell with some plyers so that it will flip up into your nose. You put the head of the plyers (needle-nose plyers work best) in the middle of the barbell while they are closed and just open them against the sides to bend the metal. It sounds scary but that's exactly how they do it in the shops and it doesn't hurt a bit (just don't slip).

thats lame. your piercer should have bent the retainer so it would fit your nose before piercing you. you should go back to a piercer and have them put in a 16g retainer.
if the problem in the length of the legs, your just going to have to find a retainer with shorter ones. you really shouldnt be changing the jewellery yet, so go to a piercer to have it done and talk about jewellery options. good luck :)

hmmm... cheap options. well, theres a $6 retainer here that looks short: https://www.bodyartforms.com/products.asp?jewelry=septum&filter=customyes
    best site ever.
if you need to hide it right now... you could use a labret stud if you have one, or a short barbell maybe. or a small diameter cbr bent open with pliers so you can flip it up. thats about all i can think of.
your piercer should switch your jewellery w/o charging you and if he has more suitable jewellery, he should trade it for yours. unless hes a dick lol
btw, it looks really really good on you :)

    lol thanks lanslide :)

    omg thank youuuuu

i found a diffferent ring that i had laying around,
it is a smaller horseshoe ring..
i cleaned it and then cleaned my nose thoroughly
    and it tucks perfectly.

    it is so uncomfortable though..
AS SOON AS I GET MONEY

haha I actually just noticed that now (and had to look up RT), naww, I'm an eye/hair guy.

Well, I did read it all. And learned that that's called a septum.
Sorrs! Glad it worked out for you though, definitely work up some cash for the bullet keeper, if you get it it'll probably feel like you don't have a thing in there.

    :)
