I never thought I had poetry in me..never tried before.. but this just came out of the blue a few weeks ago in a quiet moment.. maybe you'll like it, maybe you won't, but it came from my heart. Gaia an orb a piece of rock spinning through the heavens.. then placed here were us guardians in trust.. we planted we grew we saw the beauty but then.. we needed we got greedy more needy and now.. we kill we lie we cheat we destroy the beauty we saw.. and Gaia waits and waits and waits just waits for us to see the beauty again to protect and heal plant a seed that we may again be guardians in trust spinning through the heavens on Gaia an orb a piece of rock... ~peaceful-lady~
There's a lady I see often in a city near me, I tried to talk to her once, but she just looked through me... maybe one day she will trust enough to stop and talk, and I can put a name to this poem that I wrote about her... black sacks and a lady, red cheeks to her face from the wind, rain and sun she looks for a place she wanders the streets in the light and the dark alone with her thoughts, p'raps a place in the park wrapped up in her world, most people ignore her a mother to child says "look.. don't go near she's got a trolley and I can see cider" maybe once she was happy had a life in the past now it's just in her head did the world get too fast does anyone care they just stand and stare but she smiles as she goes on her way all alone the lady black sacks and a can. :flowers: ~peaceful-lady~
thank you freakymetalchik.. I've spent some time now reading the poetry here, a lot of very talented people... you too... yours have such sadness about them.. I guess maybe the best words come when we're either very happy, or very sad.. mine were just words that popped into my head, written quickly..
hey..thank you all for your comments.. that's given me confidence to write some more.. there is another that I wrote a little while back, I'll see if I can find it..
I used to share my life for many years with Bearded Collies.. This extract from the book "Owd Bob - the Grey Dog of Kenmuir," by Alfred Ollivant inspired me to write the poem below... "Should you, while wandering in the wild sheep land, happen on the moor or in the market upon a very perfect gentle knight, clothed in dark grey habit, splashed here and there with rays of the moon; free by right divine of the guild of gentleman, strenuous as a prince, lithe as a rowan, graceful as a girl, with high king carriage... should have a noble breadth of brow, and air of still strength born of right confidence, all unassuming; last and most unfailing test for all, should you look into two snow clad eyes, calm, wistful, inscrutable, their soft depths clothed on with sadness... know then that you look upon one of the line of the most illustrious sheepdogs of the North" He was alone she had gone they took her away today, those men in black he didn't understand, the voices were quiet and he'd hidden away. now the door was shut a deathly hush descended and it was getting dark, getting late where would he sleep he decided to wait she'd never let him down she had always been there so he sat and he waited it became light the hunger the thirst the cold the tiredness would the waiting end she wouldn't let him down the door would open she'd scratch his ears fill the bowl with food take the leash from the hook whisper "walkies" he'd jump and spin his tail would wag but the door didn't open would never open again he was alone and still he waited ~peaceful-lady~ _________ _________

I found this today amongst other things I had written.. had forgotten about it. It was written for a friend at the end of last year. . Today.. This day is a special day, it is yours. Yesterday slipped away, it cannot be filled anymore with meaning. About tomorrow nothing is known. But this day, today, is yours..make use of it. Today you can make someone happy. Today you can help another. Today you can make a difference, This day is a special day, it is yours. ~peaceful-lady~ .
you're welcome mariecstasy, and very kind.. but others here have real talent, most of the poetry here is inspiring... .
thank you for the link mariecstasy.. just dipped in there, and read a couple, 'tis a long, long thread.. I shall wait till later, and read it through with a glass of wine, and enjoy..
I spent some time there yesterday reading part of that thread..too much to take in at one go.. will keep going back and getting inspired. when I woke this morning, this popped into my thoughts, and I wrote it down quickly.. . ~~~~~~~~~~ am I the oak in forest deep among the moss, forever to sleep? will I wake, to see the dawn where love reigns upon the morn.? Oh yes.... I woke, I saw, I felt, I soar. ~peaceful-lady~ .
