    I'm glad to see lots of people enjoying the service here at the Karma Kafe, asking each other lots of questions and getting to know each other better. And remember, reports of cockroaches in the sandwiches have been greatly exaggerated!

    Ok, since it's taken off so well, I'm going to introduce a second level to the Karma Kafe. As well as everyone having a personal life thread, there will be Yin and Yang threads. Again these have been developed from the original Flyology in days of old. For anyone who remembers, these are like the Rant and Rave threads.

    Basically, you post about something you hate or love, those things that really enrage you more than anything else or those things that make you truly happy, things that get you down or things that bring you up. I know it's not the exact meaning of the philosophical yin/yang, but you get the idea.

    Yin = your hates.
    Yang = your loves.

    For example:

    'Yin: All police are bastards'

    'Yang: Special places'

    I'll start one up as an example, have a go yourselves :)

    Peace,
    Peace Phoenix

    Places that have special significance or memories for you. I did a Yang on special places a while back, there should be a thread around here somewhere. :)

    Yin

    What really get up my goat is the way people have cultured a way of speaking that irritates the life out of me. I forget the explanation for how to describe it. Basically it is how someone will make a firm or definate statement but express it as if they are asking a question. The pitch to their voice tends to rise as they are coming to the end of their point. This has been with us for a few years but I really hate the way it sounds, kind of wet and pathetic.[IMG]

    I also 'cannit' stand the expression,

    'Bless cotton socks.'

    It just can't get any more patronising.

    Yeah, I know what you mean.

    Just a note though, this thread was just to explain the idea of Yin and Yang threads and give this forum part of its remit. Yin and Yangs should be posted as seperate threads. :)
