This is a bit to long to read now. No I don't know any Libertarian government anywhere. Point one out. I know it might have been in the site you put up but I am lazy. Give me an example of a lib government. I am just saying if these Obama people really want change they need to look at an alternative to what we have and what we will get with him. He can't change anything but the color of the skin of the person holding office. And that is no reason to vote for him.

    Peace

There is not one identified in the article.
    I can't think of any.
Google brings up 'The old United States of America'
I just wanted you to think about the bit I quoted.
You don't really have to read the whole article if you do not want to.
    It is rather long.

The point is, I think there is only two leading arguments in todays politics.
If you can show me 'Libertarianism' (Or a different model from the Left Right divide that could work in America - realistically).
That would be a start for me to investigate.

There must be a rational reason why liberals/libertarians fail miserably or seem to in the majority of countries around the world - especially in America.

I should point out I'm from the UK.
If our liberals got into office - we would be screwed.

I'm just interested in US politics.

Wait wait. You seem to think Liberals and Libertarians are like the same. they are not. Check them out. We would not be in the mess world wide if we would just think the way they do. We would mind our own damn business. and focus on this country. Again Paul is on the Repubilcan ticket not the Democratic ticket. He is not a liberal.

    Peace

I guess I like things simple. I just noticed similarities.
I was not suggesting they were precisely the same.
From what I could gather, it looked like Libertarianism, shared a lot in common with the liberal agenda.

I guess past the bigger issues, the minutia is what separates them all.

I guess there are many forms of Libertarianism.

I was a little confused with you saying:
He is really a Libertarian in the republican party just to get his ideas out.

It is difficult to be appreciative of his politics from this side of the water.
You hear virtually nothing about him. I only know of him, because he is the big fish in the small tank, outside the main contenders. If he were to win. Would the republican party actually endorse his ideas? I can't see that happening.

I'm fairly glad we have only 3 main parties to think about.
I don't think I could cope with anymore

Laughing now. No the republicans would not really back him. They might put on a show. But they would not back him for real. He is in a main stream party to be heard. We don't pay to the other parties. So he is doomed.

Right, so with out public financing, of only the two main parties.
Other more fringe parties would gain a greater footing, over time.
With only public financing , for ALL parties - there would be an even field.

Or, would the two dominant parties continue to have stanglehold on American politics.

A, because people would not vote for other parties in large enough No.s
B, my initial thought that there are only really two leading political arguements worth listening and viable.
The others lead us into oblivion or just simply have not worked.

    C. If the people are so blined they can't see. We have become sheep. No the leading parties have said the same thing forever. Nothing changes. What they say is not is not viable it's just what plays well.

I meant 'in general', what did you want regarding politics.
Not what you want Ron paul to do.
    Sorry for being oblique.

the main reason for his alternative convention is to identify potential candidates for the congress and senate that share his ideals..

lets hope he truly has started a revolution and we can begin to hack away at the roots of this countries problems instead of just trimming branches...

Obama and McCain are different sides of the same political coin, you are foolish to think either are different and will bring about any real change.

We need to install a new political currency.

Ron Paul would let business RULE this country. (like they're not already!)

That is the Libertarian platform that everyone here IGNORES.

    Discover the TRUTH for yourself.

Ron Paul would SELL YOU DOWN THE RIVER to make a buck.
